While waiting for my turn to go in, I had small chats with 2 other interviewees.
First was a PR (1st Gen) and hence no need to NS, he was 23 too. And another a Malaysian from KL.
But contrary to truefaith, I'm turning 24 this year, Singaporean and got call up for round 1. Have applied to RSAF before but never got in. Completed NS (RSAF), diploma holder, have working experience & currently employed. Holding a PPL-R which is nothing to them, instead, you just get tougher questions.
Interview
Went in feeling abit nervous, greeted the captain and a hr personnel., the questions and topics discussed is as follows;
- Briefly describe yourself
- How do you apply skills in mgmt & biz into aviation
- What qualities do you think a crew should have working in a Multi-Crew env
- Discuss the similarities & differences in General Aviation & Commerical Aviation
- How does the plane navigate itself ?
- Where did your last flight (vacation) was to?
- Over which countries did you flew past on your right and left?
- What ocean did the aircraft overflew?
- What is the general direction of flight?
Lastly, do you have any questions to ask? I did ask 2 questions, don't know if it makes a difference but I was genuinely interested to know. Kurai made it without asking too.
Goodluck davis and kurai, for myself; I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the email. You have mail Kurai, check your inbox thks in advance!

I guess that's because SFC has flying background. I have zero flying experience, not a lot of technical questions, just basic knowledge about aircraft.
For my 2nd interview, same questions as 1st interview, i answered well and the technical questions stopped there. Then they focused on my family, financial situation as i am married, with 1-year-old little girl. Just to make sure that i can commit to this job and cause no burden to my family, also asked about mortgage of the house.
So told them that i can afford all these, and I passed.

not sure where truefaith get's his info from, but unless he is directly involved with the recruitment of cadets in SQ, the age 26 rule is not hard and fast. (no offence to truefaith)
from SQ HR (the horse's mouth), as explained during the interview: as long as MINDEF clears SQ to take you, they can take you as a cadet. There's a lot of rumours as to what age you are automatically released and what not, but that's the simplest fact. MINDEF says they don't need you, SQ can have their pick.

I see. I don't know whether I can get the second chance or not. I gone through the second and tea party one year ago but couldn't get through. I heard that if I upgrade my qualification maybe still get second chance. So now doing my degree with the hope. Just realize we are the same age Anyway, congratulation! Hope to hear good new from your medical result.

I finally understand the fear of waiting, till date still don't know the outcome of the 1st interview. Kurai, I read that you got email notification the following Wednesday after your 1st interview; what time did they send the email?
Another friend told me now they send out rejection on monday and notification for 2nd round on wed, don't know how true it is.....
The wait is agonizing, hope u clear your medical kurai!! You're almost there!!
Goodluck & cheers to all for contributing !!

Btw, should I be expecting any email notification regarding my medical result from CAAS? or phone calls? or none at all?

@ Kurai: You won't be getting any phone calls. Give ST a call about 2 weeks after your medical if you want to find out if you cleared. But clearing CAAS medical doesn't mean you've got the job, SIA still makes the decisions. Good luck!
