I heard someone shout "Maverick, check your sex!!!" and while I was looking down, some bugger started shooting at me.

Well, I can thoroughly recommend not to sneak up behind a B-17 & shout RATTATATATA over the radio!

I didn't realise that getting a blessing from the Padre was going to make the aircraft Holy.

The Odour of Sanctity.

In the wake of Buster's #856 above, perhaps the Padre's Blessing had invoked the stigma - but they could only find one nail !

(bordering on the sacrilegious now, so no more, please - but I humbly presume that they have a sense of humour in Heaven. Did not Hilaire Belloc (?) write):

"In Catholic lands where the sun does shine,
There's good loud laughter and good red wine.
At least I have ever found it so -
Benedicamus Domino"

There was a bang, a bit of a flash, it shook a bit, and the view out the front got a lot better.

Well, I think this one has had a good enough airing by now. Last orders please, and I will put up the placings tomorrow.
