Small point, the CF100 cockpit is a MK4B, the aircraft shown is a MK5, a very different aircraft, {No guns, only FFAARs, extended wings, more thrust , almost 10,000lbs lighter} Spent 1750hrs of my miss spent youth straped in various Marks, Oh to be eighteen again!
So it was more of a "Clank" than a "Clunk"?:)
Sadly, many CF-100s were shipped by rail to Lethbridge, only to be broken down and scrapped/melted. |
Clunkdriver, thanks for that clarification. I have always found the CF100 an attractive aircraft that never received the attention it deserves, sadly open source Mk4 photos are pretty rare but see here. At least I avoided the Mk3!

As it's an OH, this hasn't appeared before either:

I'll keep the thread moving by guessing a Junkers K.47..
Like your thinking, but no. Right country, wrong role, wrong decade.
Blohm & Voss Ha.137 ?
Right country, right role, right decade.

Hi Kitbag,
That looks like it's a Henschel HS-123 ? |
Bristol Type 142 'Britain First'?
No sir, not a Bristol.
Ok, looking at the rudder pedals they seem German, there appears to be some sort of reflector sight on the instrument panel coaming. The transparency frames do not appear symmetrica, and what is happening in the lower fuselage?
How about Dornier 217 night intruder/night fighter series? |
A good follow-up shot! It is the Dornier Do-217 J :D
Do-217 cockpit interior, pilot station on left (seats removed for photography purposes), radio/navigator on right, dorsal gun post in front of photo, ventral gun post below deck. Kitbag has control |
TVM. Yet another that hasn't appeared before, and I guess it won't last long.
