They do not compete being different products but interchangeable air miles & transit luggage is seemless between the two.
Read a trip report to / from WAW from Dubai. Seat pitch less, meals not so plentiful and IFE not as good on FlyDubai.
No way LHR when such an expensive slot pair can be made of better use by Emirates.
If it is LGW, are yealds not good up in 1st & Business for Emirates already?
I would think that STN or LTN would be only candidates.

Luton have stated they can’t accept code E aircraft (Boeing 777, Boeing 787, A330) for the Champion League final. As a side note Southend can cater for up to 20 charter flights with no night time limits.

Has anyone suggested above code C aircraft to use LTN for Champions League?

As far as FlyDubai, Milan is another good example.
Emirates uses MXP ( double daily) whereas FlyDubai uses BGY.
More of an indication that FlyDubai would only look at STN or LTN only.

Reading the ACL notice it seems to me that all the airports except Southend are saying "can you go somewhere else as we have enought to cope with at the moment thank you".

Is that not 20 flights through the Jet Center, not the terminal?

Plus we all know what the M25 is like - both ways - getting to Wembley. Best of British with that one.

Champions League Final

https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-n...-night-flights

At Luton Airport, Signature Aviation has temporarily expanded the size of its ramp by accessing some airline stands and will be able to accommodate widebody aircraft. Despite the nighttime restrictions, the company—which also operates an FBO at Gatwick Airport—said it has secured “a healthy amount” of slots for the weekend of the game, with operators advised to plan early for flights.

What’s the situation with Stands overnight at Luton.
Looking at tomorrow’s early departures it appears there are 24 Easy 12 Wizz 7 Ryan and 1 TUI based units- making 44 Stands taken.
With the new South East and North stands in use and the fact the Airport is declaring 46 Stands available from W24( ACL) are there currently any free stands overnight now or taken up with WIP?
Assume the Pond is now entirely for Signature.
Are 10R and 81 now exclusively for Private?
Does the 46 Stands include Cargo?

The NOTAM for Foxtrot is for just 24 hours - probably whilst they resolve the EZY on S60.

Looking at the arrivals today after 00:30 there were 12 so potentially 12 Wembey departures if no capacity restrictions a few airlines could be accommodated but I suspect any prized Ad-hoc slots will go to the FBOs.
Signature did say about handing wide bodies so maybe a Team charter?
Anyhow, FA Cup final & Rugby at Tottenham Stadium to look forward to first.

The W24 stands available is an interesting one as far as I know the Pond is Signature's. 10R NetJets, 81 Signature 2 and Cargo is not part of the equation. Runup Bay?

The capacity declaration for W24 releases a further 4 stands and 500,000 passenger air transport movements in anticipation of progress towards 19m pax.
NEOS Max later, assume F1 related.

Nicely timed for the airports busiest weekend of the year due to half term. The event starts Friday and ends Sunday. This morning the queues extended to the A505.

https://place.stepforwardluton.co.uk...d-2024/travel#

When planning your journey to the Radio 1’s Big Weekend we strongly urge visitors to use public transport as major traffic congestion is expected on all major roads in and around Luton.

Dan Air W24

From October 27 to December 15:
  • London LTN: Mondays and Fridays
From December 16 to March 29:
  • London LTN: Mondays and Fridays (additional London flights on Wednesdays and Sundays)
I think this is a near doubling of Luton traffic, from New Year for 8 weeks there was nothing this year.

Couldn't 21 staff been put to better use directing traffic rather than dancing on South Stands?

Wonder if they will be looking so happy after trying to get to work over the 3 days? Must be an age thing but I am finding the whole disruption to lives a pain in the arse.

I shouldn’t complain as many residents have been told to remove their cars from outside their homes as part of the 100 road closure plan.

From the airports homepage

Radio 1's Big Weekend Luton - Road Closures 24-26 May

From Friday 24 May to Sunday 26 May, there will road closures across Luton town centre for Radio 1's Big Weekend. A full list of closures can be found here.

Closures will be enforced in phases from Friday 24 May at 9:30am until 2:00am on Saturday 25 May. Then again from 8:00am until 1:00am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Please allow extra time for your journey and consider alternate travel options where possible.

I have been told their are restrictions up to the L& D hospital!
Also for those who might not live in Luton but come up M1 and think, I'll get off at J9, cut across back roads, the Herts Show is on so that is going to be mega busy as well. I think you will be prevented on going through to Kingsborne Green.

So I wonder how many passengers have missed their flights today? At 17:58 the tailback goes back to the M1 slip road with the M1 also at a standstill almost to the M25
