I guess we're quite a lot of copilots rated on airbus waiting for opening of selections

Anybody knows if there is a tax benefit program for foreign pilots in Portugal? I’m interested to know what an expat CPT in Lisbon earns net.
Cheers

Not anymore. The only tax benefit you can get now is having your residence in Spain and working in Portugal. 60k eur per year is tax free in that case. Not the most convenient commute though

I'm EU resident but I don't reside in Spain unfortunately. In that case, without any tax benefit, what is the net salary for a CPT in Lisbon?

And it's becoming difficult to avoid the brutal 62% marginal tax rate, even with maximum pension contributions. UK is not the place to be a pilot, or any senior professional.

He was asking about Portugal, not UK

Your net depends if you are married, have kids, how many, where your tax residence is, etc. Impossible to answer without more context. With 0 seniority and the average bonus of the last few years you can expect around 180/185k gross per year. Three seniority steps at 2, 5 and 10 years in the company, of 5% each

Ah yes, it was meant for the other easyjet thread which was about uk tax. Worth bearing in mind all the same.

Anyone completed the assessment for DEC LGW recently? Please PM. Thanks 👍

Hey random question regarding easyJet, are the pilots able to operate on both AOCs simultaneously, or do you work for say Easyjet UK only, or EasyJet Europe etc? Just wondered if a pilot in a UK base can fly the EU registered aircraft?

transmitforDF 29th January 2025 15:05

At present no, you still work for easyjet but operate under different AOC's, same applies to the cabin crew. That doesn't mean you can't hold both licences though..

SpijkTheBore 30th January 2025 10:45

I've heard of people currently in training being messed about. One minute they're told they're going to Spain and the next minute they're not. Clearly we've got no rush to get bodies through the door!

Kibathepilot 2nd February 2025 16:12

I see Easyjet have opened up to low hour pilots, is there any talk when non rated FO positions will open up again for Easy UK?

A friend of mine (honest) is asking when easyJet will begin hiring non type rated FOs and captains for Spain or Germany bases...

Swiss and EU pilots can fly on each others AOC and aircraft and in mixed crews, and it is routinely done. Brexit put an end to the same with the UK.

Nobody knows, but NTR DEC in Germany is extremely unlikely, pretty much impossible anytime soon I would say. Spain might be, but nobody knows for sure.

Kibathepilot 3rd February 2025 11:15

When easy open up for experienced UK pilots do they assign a base or offer a choice at contract stage?

de fumo in flammam 3rd February 2025 13:36

They assigned me LGW, but I was able to change that to Luton on request. Some time ago, mind.

On request before starting/accepting the offer or after starting training?
