Thanks for the smart response, but there's no need. In my current airline the next "review" isnt expected to yield anything, the post Covid cash splash is over. So while it may be obvious to someone already in BA, not all of us are yet. Are there any rumours what they might be? Thanks

That argument proved especially difficult to fight when COVID hit and that was when it was the same AOC to boot! In short don’t expect any protection from being on the MSL, given my time again I would have never bid over to LGW. Those months of Spring/Summer 2020 were appalling for my mental health. Yes those of us with sufficient seniority kept our jobs in the end but it was a bloody close run thing. Gatwick has always been a neglected entity in BA. If you’re easyJet P1 and got a DEC offer to BA Euroflyer I would personally say it’s a no brainer to stay where you are.

Is it true that there are rumoured payrises coming with the next pay review?

Well, the answer to your question is on the very same page as your question.
Nevermind though, someone helpful has confirmed the overall pay situation via DM, and the answer wasn't the "obvious" implied. That has helped a lot in knowing what to expect and I thank them. |
I am still not really sure what you were asking, but I am glad you have your answer. I was never implying anything was obvious, although it is true, there are always rumours.

This is spot on. I'm one of those newish easyJet P1s and was considering EFW last year. Even with the LGW-related issues aside, the sums come nowhere near close - in fact I'd make marginally more on 75% part-time at EZY than full time at EFW (though if the 6k basic payrise comes, its probably going to be even).
Presumably for anyone considering it, the question is more “do I want to be stuck doing there and backs out of Gatwick for the next 30 years?” It’s the wider career options at BA which historically have allowed them to pay less. Clearly that hasn’t been enough of a draw lately, hence the recent EFW pay hikes. |

Also probably worth keeping pension contributions in mind, as you certainly aren’t going to want to (or necessarily even be possible) on easyJet’s contributions. 6% for 15.5% will put you in a very comfortable position at retirement, especially if you’re younger than early 30s. Otherwise make sure you are topping that pension puppy up hardcore with your new skippers cash! |

I don’t think anyone in their right mind would suggest that moving from EZY to EFW would be a good move if your sole motivation is cash.

Clearly that hasn’t been enough of a draw lately, hence the recent EFW pay hikes. In a base which in the last big one immediately got cut loose quicker than Russell Brand allegedly drops his trousers for a sixteen year old girl and which, by all accounts, is performing in a less than stellar fashion. In my humble and honest opinion you would need your head examined to leave a safe bet like easyJet and take the risk of BA sticking to any kind of industrial agreement in LGW. Take it from someone who has been there and done the proverbial T Shirt purchase. If you’re talking about going to mainline and you’re willing to take some short term economic pain for long term lifestyle options then yes that’s a different story altogether and is a personal choice but chancing your arm on Euroflyer for six years? Do me a favour… |
It seems relevant to this discussion that BA Euroflyer has just launched a DEP with Aspiration for Command role:

I might be wrong but command in BA (including euroflyer) is at 3500 JET hours and 12 months in BA.....Also, what is meant by "subject to factorisation"? Which factors are they using?

Hi all,
I recently attended my Sim assessment. Anybody know the lead times for getting an outcome? Cheers |

Dear Colleagues,
I've been invited for an assessment early April, would anyone be so kind to suggest be a good package to buy to prepare myself? Any recommendations in general? Thanks a lot. |
How realistic is it to spend a maximum of 45 midnights a year in the UK, on a long haul roster? Looking at a 2hr flight commute with healthy daily flights.
I understand landing into LHR on the same day as the trip is frowned upon. |

I understand landing into LHR on the same day as the trip is frowned upon. I commute on the same day. No issues. And usually arrive a lot more relaxed than my colleagues who have drove 100+ mile and sat In the m25 and then battled for a car parking space. While I’ve enjoyed a coffee watched Netflix and had a nap. Just make sure you’ve a back up plan or two. |
Anyone passing the sim in January been offered a course date yet ??
