Vienna base is a goner too.
|
Might need a couple more unpaid leave volunteers in the UK after breaking their brand new XLR 🤣

They're closing it.
|
First AUH and now VIE. WZZ is closing anything that isn't in eastern europe (because its the only place where they can get away with abusing workers)
Next WUK will be closed, then all Italian bases, and even Poland will be considered too western for them at some point |
I've heard that they are trying to recruit FAA pilots for wizz uk.

Hi all,
Has anyone here gone through the assessment centre for the Wizz Air Cadet scheme recently? Any tips? Thanks! |
Is Wizz Uk as bad as people make out?
Coming from the Middle East with hours for command, is there a realistic opportunity to get a command quick? I know they say you can apply within 6 months if you have the pre requisites, but how realistic is this? Thinking approx 24 months at Wizz Uk then you’d be in a good place for a DEC at EZY. Whats people’s thoughts? |

Whats people’s thoughts? 2 sims and you may be moved LHS. However, things are very fluid at Wizz recently. I would not leave a secure job elsewhere to go to Wizz. |

Whats people’s thoughts? They need Captains, and they've upgraded many guys who were long term FO's from ME or legacy type carriers. That system of getting guys in and on to the left is a well oiled machine IMO. Wizz definitely isn't as bad as everyone makes out, like most forums on pprune. 5/4 fixed roster, you can earn a decent packet of cash especially as Captain, SFO is not bad as well. You will be home everynight bar a couple of rotations, which you might not even have every month. Nice bunch of people to work with. Of course it doesn't compare to EZ or Jet 2 when you consider retirment contribution and so on, but cash in the bank for the first few years I believe it is on par. In terms of quickest upgrade, Wizz easily wins. Whether or not Easy will be running DEC recruitment in two years time is more uncertain IMO. Just apply and come and see for yourself, if you want to come home it's probably your quickest ticket. |
Any news about Rapid Command program?

Anyone share T&C for Captains at Yerevan base ?
Do you get a local contract or this is the swiss tax system or some self employed stuff? |
Swiss tax system is a thing of the past. Wizz Air Hungary moved their financial HQ to Budapest and it implies paying Hungarian taxes and taxes where you're based. Regarding EVN, it's either local contract or Confair I guess.
|
Where HQ is based should have no bearing on where income taxes are withhold. If they have local subsidiary, eg Wizzair Italy, and they do, I see no reason why they should not take only taxes in Italy for example. That's what every company does.
|
But actually it does. For example Romania and Malta have their dual tax treaty working favouribly.
Every country has their own compensation policy now, adapted to the pecularities of each country's taxation and tax treaty agreement between that country and Hungary or Malta. I am based in Italy, and we can discuss at length as to how taxes are handled in Italy under a Maltese AOC. It all comes down to one word missing according to the Italian authorities. The Romanian one applies it differently and it's advantageous for colleagues based in Romania. |
Until not long ago Italian based pilots were also paying income taxes in Switzerland, on top of italy, despite being employed by the italian subsidiary, though
|
Look at Ryanair, Vueling and easyJet italian based pilots. They only pay taxes and social contributions in italy, because they are hired by an italian local subsidiary, despite Maltese, Spanish and Austrian AOC. Wizzair has been doing it differently.
