I've always paid taxes and social contributions only in Italy and I've been based in Italy since 2022.
|
That's great, because initially when they opened the first italian bases in 2020 they were doing things differently. I stopped caring right around 2022
So the change in HQ should have no effect on you or the other countries contracts, right? |
Anyone has info about how is the recruitment situation at Wizzair for NTR Cadet ? I know they have holding pools for the different AOC but does it really guarantee a job once you are in ?

Wizz DEC
How is the schedule/pay for DECs ar Wizz UK?
are you able to trade your trips with other pilots? Do you have to be on call? Are they all turns or do you do layovers too? |
Interesting! https://www.ch-aviation.com/news/159...ders-past-2030
HA-LDE and HA-LDF are reported as not being taken up by Wizz and LDE which is fully painted, is off to JetSmart. |

The feeling I get is that they're quite ok with crewing?

Yes, you can trade trips. 5ON4OFF fixed roster available prefererence for earlies or late if possible, with one random month in the year, then the 5/4 pattern continues. So you can know your OFF days for the whole year. Mostly 2 sector turns, a few layover destinations, such as Jeddah and Medinah. But majority of your flights will be out and back. You have home standby duties, call out time is 60 minutes I think, ie. you need to be at the airport within 60 mins. I don't think they have any airport standby duties but not sure. |
Thank you Pedro.
Just so I understand better, if one trades trips, one can get a longer stretch of days off? Or does trip trading have to be day for day (and the 5/4 pattern never changes)? Also can you drop trips? |

You can not drop trips per say, you can put flights for give away, so anyone may take it if they want to, if nobody takes it, you will have to operate it. If you are clever you could trade some flights to have a longer off block, it wont affect your pattern. But it can be hard to find someone who is compatible (with out duty time violoations) and willing to take your flight. The company doesn't care either way, you can give away all your flights in theory, in practice it's just tricky to find someone to take them off you. |
And what if the job is leaving you? Is it a good place to be vs no job at all? Could you provide a little more insight?

Dear Jim,
If you're really based in the USA, trust me, you'd better find another job in the USA. You absolutely cannot even compare WizzAir to anything in the USA...If you fly for, let's say, Spirit Airlines, and you're really willing to leave America, better to apply for Emirates. Trust me on this. |
Hey A320… you figured me out. Spirit captain here! Is it really that rough at Wizz?

Cadet FO holding pool
Good morning everyone! This is my first post here on PPRuNe, so please be gentle with me 😅😂My question is about how long cadet FOs usually stay in the holding pool. I passed the selection process at the beginning of July but haven’t heard anything since. Is that just normal waiting time? Also, is there a chance that they might not call me at all? Thanks for all the support!!

Hey. I think being more specific which AOC are you talking about and wether you are type rated or non-type rated would help others to give you a proper answer.
