dum dum pacheco 22nd August 2014 16:53

I'm 41. Many hours but not on 737. I've applied for non type rated but no answer so far. Thats why Im wondering about the age limit...

SpannerInTheWerks 22nd August 2014 17:12

Evidence (and legal issues) suggest, all things being equal, that you'll be okay.

dum dum pacheco 22nd August 2014 17:37

I hope so spanner¡¡

Norwegian B737 Pilot selection (Updated)

Similar (???) age bracket, not an insane amount of hrs but a decent experience, NTR. Got the invitation for the assessment which I duly completed. So far no ageism, good news. Whether they will take me onboard, provided I passed, that's another story.

ron83 23rd August 2014 05:47

Guys,

Friend of mine wondering, did someone who apply for Cadet entry NOT Registering on their website, but sending application directly received any answer from NAX and their questionnaire( or online assessment, whatever it might be) ?

flyer19832007 23rd August 2014 22:59

Anyone know what the starting salary is for Norwegian?

From PPJN the converted figures are from £31232 FO base to £68264 FO top.
Not sure from this what the additional flying pay etc is as it's not clear on PPJN.

Does everyone start from the bottom scale? Or is there a factored hours deal like EZY where you can go in as an SFO?

FRogge 23rd August 2014 23:18

Just look at the contractor figures on both base and additional! Rumour is though that they are decreasing the salary by 800e/month for the new contracts.

flyer19832007 23rd August 2014 23:38

Ah, makes sense. Didn't realise you're being recruited as a contractor.

Hi guys,

Do you know when Norwegian will give us an answer after passing the online assessments?
(NTR selection)

Thanks

bairni 26th August 2014 15:13

Guys, they are sending out invitations for interviews at their headquarters!
I am invited to come to Norway in ~3 weeks.

Sent my application Last monday, did the tests on tuesday and received the invitation 30 minutes ago.

BTW: I'am not a troll :ok:

Greetings, I Cross my fingers for you!!!!!

GeorgeHarrison 26th August 2014 17:35

Wow! Congrats and fingers crossed for you too :)
Tell us something about the invitation..was it phone call or email?

aloa326 26th August 2014 17:57

Bairni very well done!!!!!

captplaystation 26th August 2014 20:24

Longer than your contract . . . . :} well, I am half joking here, but, if so, that is actually good news :ok:

Don't want to be seen as a party pooper, but, with so many rated & experienced applicants out there (half of Ryanair for example) have any of you given some thought as to why, exactly, they may suddenly be inviting every man & his dog for NTR ? have you been given any idea at all of the package on offer ? or are you just "hoping" it will be the same as the (rumoured to have been recently reduced by €800/month for new entrants ) package offered to rated applicants . . . . . . just sayin

despegue 27th August 2014 01:17

Captplaystation,

I think you'll find that the pool of available DEC, rated on B737 has run almost dry, companies are scraping now from the bottom and are even offering upgrades for DEFO. Maybe not necessarily at NOrwegian, but recruiting b737captains is getting VERY difficult.

Ethiopia 27th August 2014 07:22

Despegue,

I hope it is so, but I can see that some airlines have been advertising for dec 737 captains with very low t&cs forever and they dont seem to have any intention of changing that.

Other than those in China, it doesnt look to me that airlines are increasing their offer to attract the dec 737 capts in the market.

I really hope to be wrong as this will be good for all of us. In any case, all the best to all of you.

italian stallion 27th August 2014 08:01

Hi all
Anybody which European bases Norwegian is looking DEC 737 for?

Thanks

captplaystation 27th August 2014 09:15

despegue,
I hope you are correct,it would be (with somewhat tense negotiations coming up soon in NAS ) helpful to us, but. . . . this discussion was about NTR FO's

and rated 737 FO's with experience are still plentiful (especially if Ryanair continue to alienate them just as they approach "Command ready". )

aloa326 27th August 2014 09:58

Hi Toplux,

out of curiosity, when have you completed the online test?

by the way...you right very quick process.

Onisar 29th August 2014 10:34

Online Test

Hi Guys ,

I'm new in this forum. I Just wanted to know if anyone had a feedback From Norwegian after passing the online test and what about if We didn't finish the verbal reasoning Test completely ?

Peace ! Finger cross

aloa326 29th August 2014 12:19

hawksbill 30th August 2014 03:06

I too have been asked for an interview. I have confirmed the date I wanted between the two they offered, but haven't been given confirmation or info. Anybody had confirmation or further info?

babisiliop 30th August 2014 06:49

How long after the online test you have a feedback?

DutchExpat 30th August 2014 09:06

Hawksbill it's the weekend so you ll have wait a little bit longer!

hobnobanyone 30th August 2014 09:18

Hawksbill - I wouldn't worry. Same here - responded to the email, and eagerly await further instructions and information. But I suspect they are very busy at the moment.

Onisar 30th August 2014 09:53

Still no reply

How long after the online test you have a feedback? i've done it last wednesday morning and still no reply . Also , i didn't had enough time to complete the verbal reasoning part of the test , so may be i don't need to wait further more .
Well done guys who already have been contacted for an interview !:ok:

an737 30th August 2014 12:42

From those of you that have received an interview invitation, you have applied for FO or CPT? Have any CPT been called yet?

Anybody?

Good luck to all ya all

bastiffm 1st September 2014 11:49

same here.. low hour pilot.. no mail no nothing..

drag king 1st September 2014 13:35

Hi guys, I'm done with online testing 12 days ago...still no signs from them...bed luck bell ringing?
If the are 1/2 as bad as Aer Lingus in 2013 (identical online assessment and nothing else than an abbreviated version of the easyJet's one...) it might take up to 6 months!

1000-PFO were sent out on Valentine's day last Feb...with lovely wishes of good luck for further career's success, of course!

PS: not a low-timer, nor a TR here too but I don't hold too much hope when an HR office is reported to have received a landslide of applications.

captplaystation 1st September 2014 15:47

"group exercise" ? :ooh: Oh Gawd, how very 80's / BA / Go . . . . what a total waste of time.

More overpaid work for those under qualified /opinionated HR/Psychobabble wasters, that has got to be a good thing :hmm:

Think the old system, where you came along & had a chat with BH, & in the meantime he asked around with current employees whether they had heard of you , &if so , whether you were a good guy or a waste of space, seemed to have netted us a fair percentage of good guys.

The ones I know who passed this "group hug" cr@p were usually 50/50 Aces/Turkeys. . .as one would reasonably expect from anything so contrived.

FRogge 1st September 2014 16:56

So has any type rated pilots got an invitation for the interview or only NTR?

FULLY AGREE...:ok:

bairni 1st September 2014 20:32

So they recently charged the recruitment and added group excercises to their assessment center? I don't know what to expect from the interview. More details to be sent in the next days :* ... I hope they won't change their mind and cancel the interviews :=

Regards,

MichaelPL 2nd September 2014 07:21

So they recently charged the recruitment
Charged the recruitment, as in you have to pay for the process Ryanair-wise?
Or is it just a typo (changed)?

captplaystation 2nd September 2014 08:14

I was responding to toplux (post 561 ) but have no idea if indeed the dreaded "kiddies playtime" had been included. . . willing to believe anything however, as all the other horlicks required wasn't in place in 2012 (verbal reasoning etc)

LNIDA 2nd September 2014 11:23

Captainplaystation

But they were desperate back then?........thankfully

captplaystation 2nd September 2014 12:19

Certainly seems that way ;)
