Folks - when do you think they'll hit the big "no thanks" button on their email? could it be as late as Friday@5? just wondered if anyone had a hunch, I can't stand not knowing either way.

M33 2nd November 2010 10:38

Dont give up yet, I think there are obviously two emails being returned to people, one with possible selection dates and the other:

Thank you for your interest in joining BA CityFlyer as First Officers E-Jet Series Aircraft. We will process your application as quickly as possible, please be patient in awaiting a response. You do not need to contact us at this stage.

My guess is thats me out of the running already, but with only 700TT 500ME I cant expect anything else in this market!

VNA Lotus 2nd November 2010 10:55

Emb190 2nd November 2010 13:33

Two very good mates of mine got the call to interview today! Very pleased for them.:D
One has 600TT 150ME, other has 2000TT.

Good Luck to them and all the others.

Rejection email!!

M33.

Can i ask when you got the email? Is that not just the confirmation email that BACF send out when they have recieved your application and its confirmed on their system?

Cheers,

Eurocargo 2nd November 2010 14:33

Hi guys!

Realized too late of this job!!
Is the application closed? On the website seems so... :ugh:

Robby966 2nd November 2010 14:35

Hi Eurocargo,

Applications closed last Friday at 5pm....

gdukkoq 2nd November 2010 14:38

wwwwwwwwwwwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiii pleeeeeeease call meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teddy Robinson 2nd November 2010 15:21

In reply to my previous ......

I had an email, not an eagerly awaited call ... for a job on the same aircraft where I did not have to jump through hoops for the clownmaster... and for 3 times the pay.

Perhaps my comments belong on a PTF thread, but experience is the rule, and employers such as these should be at the recieving end of what the training industry should be about, self improvement to a compenent level, fit to command an airliner full of fare paying passengers from the right seat !!!!

Apologies if my remarks offended some who are desperate for a job, but the industry has to change back to being competence led rather than purely accountant led.... which means some people with minimum hours expecting a job as their right having to gain experience to justify their position, the resulting hard work, and a worthwhile career with a company worth working with .. rather than for.

To prostrate yourselves in front of a low paying employer asking you to jump through hoops whilst biting the pillow .. gives you the employer you deserve

FlyingTinCans 2nd November 2010 16:35

Anybody heard anything today?

Not got a phone call or a PFO yet, the waiting is killing me!

I suspect though as they are only looking for a handfull of pilots for each seat if you havnt heard anything yet, you are either in the 'maybe if one of the other guys cant make it' pile or the 'no' pile.

Hope im wrong

Jabulani 2nd November 2010 16:38

No call here as well

Drakestream 2nd November 2010 16:43

A colleague who has also applied called them earlier. He said that he was told that those who are to be invited to interview will be called by the end of business today and then PFO emails would go out towards the end of the week.

No phone call for me either. Ah well, maybe next time?

BA777 2nd November 2010 17:17

No call for me either :(

VNA Lotus 2nd November 2010 17:29

I received a call today but did not reply... it was "unknown number"... not sure who was it... usually adverts calls... :ugh: I will never know !
nobody knows if the number is hide ?
of course I did not know this morning that cityflyer uses the call....until now.

dan1165 2nd November 2010 17:31

Don't worry guys , if they don't call u they don't deserve you :E

RJ100 2nd November 2010 18:10

VNA Lotus
BACF numbers come up on the phone as unknown number. But so do many others. They will usually leave a message for you to call back. They are not so mean as to think Tough luck for not answering. If you don't have voice mail, then ..... the thought from them will be Tough Luck.:}

vfrrider481 2nd November 2010 18:15

No call, not looking promising with the earlier posts indicating those being invited will know by close of play today.:{

VFE 2nd November 2010 18:36

I guess there's always hope that if the November batch don't come up to snuff then they will invite another fresh bunch in for an interview? One can but hope..............

VFE.

I'm Off! 2nd November 2010 18:39

Nothing heard here...

CHECHE 2nd November 2010 18:45

I'm still waiting but I start to believe that I'm not going to receive that call....
Interesting to hear that EMB190 knows a pilot who received the call with 600 TT and 150 ME, far away from the minimum requirements.
I have 1600 TT with 1100 in Turboprop MAP and nothing!!!!

VFE 2nd November 2010 18:50

Would be interested to know where the chosen low houred guys did their training...

VFE.

Well I have three times your experience, all of it at LCY. No call either :ouch:

I suspect that jet time counts first and foremost, with personal recommendations not far behind.

Good luck to all invited and 'chin up' to those not.

SetStandard 2nd November 2010 19:34

I have 1500 jet hours and no call or email from them either.

Keep optimistic guys. :\

VFE 2nd November 2010 19:50

Will get even more interesting come April when the Harriers start to pop off and then when the Nimrod guys start to flood onto the market... just to cheers us up whilst we're on a jolly note. :}

Leading_Edge_190 2nd November 2010 19:58

Hi Guy's,

Just to let you know that I missed the call from BAC yesterday as I was Flying and to BAC's credit they emailed me to tell me as my phone didn't allow voicemails for some reason.

I would have been non the wiser if I hadn't seen the email. So I think I got lucky. I do have the type though so maybe that why they went the extra mile on this occassion.

Don't get to disheartent as I know others with the type that haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure there is still stuff going on behind the scenes at BAC so there is still hope just be patient and hopefully you will hear something soon.

Good Luck to all
:ok:

How certain are you/your mate about this? Of the 60+odd (got better things to do than count them all up) applicants who have been active on this thread, for only 4 or so to get the call (or know someone who did) seems a little odd.

I would be very surprised if this is the point for "That's All Folks" from BACF. But then again, life in this profession does seem to be very full of surprises these days.

CW
I'm certain I'm afraid. The two of us applied together and he volunteered to make the call this morning in the crew room. We're both looking to get back to the UK after working abroad for the past few years. Sadly it doesn't look like it's our time. Fingers crossed Flybe start recruiting soon.

Jabulani 2nd November 2010 22:13

Seems to look like they want to have no experience, I even would bring left hand seat experience at LCY.

Keep you informed if there will be a call...

turbine100 2nd November 2010 22:29

I have just under 500hrs and fly on a AOC light A/C with not a lot of experience compared to others and am modular.

No call. Would be interesting to find out what the screening requirements set are and whether its lots of experience or low houred cadets from integrated schools.

CoiledString 2nd November 2010 22:48

4400TT / 2000 Jet............... No invite to the party .

CHECHE 3rd November 2010 10:53

I'm amazed :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

What are they looking for?

custard guts 3rd November 2010 11:07

Duf, I have flown with you so I am not suprised!

Dr Eckener 3rd November 2010 11:17

I suspect they are looking for cheap cadets and those who will work for the lower salary. Same as everyone else these days. Experience is a hindrance in this depressing market.

4000TT, plenty jet, TP command. No call.
