Im not working for NAS but I would imagine that they still use contractors in HEL and it's not Scandinavia so I would hope that there is a chance to get there! But as we all know, you have no clue with airlines in todays world what they are up to.

NAS on line assessment

Hi alloha, luc753 and others....

After doing the Cut-e On-line assessment, have you received any feed back?

If you are successful, do you know what's the next step?

...and do you know, if the on-line assessment email was sent to you from the agency you did applied with, or by this stage (if successful) you are already chosen for further interview/assessment by NAS, I mean if you are already by now in the process with NAS?

Good luck to you....
:ok:

luc753 10th Aug 2014 15:22

Hello 8899. After doing the assesment, I have no feedback for the moment. I read on this topic, that the next steps if successful, it will be a sim interview and an interview with the RH and some tech questions (looks like 737 lim or explain some systems and some basics stuff like vmcg)....I applied only via the website not via an agency. Thanks you. I hope a lot...

Speedbird000 10th Aug 2014 17:55

The guys who joined in the last batch of recruitment, did they also have this 6 month initial contract period with the possibility of 24 months after?

Very interested in NAS but this condition is putting me off. I know you're more than likely to be there longer than the 6 months but it's a risk....

aerocomp 11th Aug 2014 07:30

You that have received the online test are you already rated?

LNIDA 11th Aug 2014 08:46

The first Helsinki contract offer was rejected by 98% of the HEL pilot group the second contract offer has been accepted by 98% of the HEL pilot group, its not perfect, but what is?

Not sure the contract period is relevant, either side can pull the plug at a months notice, I'm only aware of the company having exercised that option a couple of times and that was about the individual rather than the job position, i make no judgement on whether the company was in the right or not. I'm not aware of anybody not having their contract renewed.

If you want to join Norwegian then now is a good time as the recruitment will slow in 2015 when the last aircraft of the current 738 order are delivered, some of which will be to replaced the phased out 737-300's and a small number of early build 737-800 so no net recruitment.

Huh? English test required.:D

luc753 11th Aug 2014 14:38

Does someone have any news today after the online assessment? Here nothing.... Because they said that they will contact you shortly after the application process is closed

NAS on line assessment

@luc753

...that's indeed what they said, but no feedback yet :sad:

@aerocomp

Affirmative...rated!

alloha 13th Aug 2014 22:57

well i guess they are expecting all of the guys who got applied to complete the online assessment and then they will contact those who fit to the desirable profile the most.

Any one has any info on the FO salary an the type of roster they provide?they say for minimum 12 days off.Is it possible to work on a 5/2 5/2 4/6 5/2 pattern for example?

Approaching Minima 14th Aug 2014 10:17

Quoted from their recruitment page:

Variable roster in which the above mentioned days off will be given with at least two blocks with 3/ 4 days off each month.

luc753 14th Aug 2014 20:40

They are searching people without and experience the TR of 737 now. There are searching more people. So, good news for us. They will take more of us. They will they us before them.... Good luck for everybody. Hope to have a positive news soon

overclock25 18th Aug 2014 09:53

First email with negative response have been sent. Two of my friends rated and with some hours on type have been rejected. Me at the moment no news (which maybe is a good news).

3500tt atpl rated

aircowboy 18th Aug 2014 10:23

How many hours on type do friends have??? I think those rated with less than 500 hours on type are not going to be called

overclock25 18th Aug 2014 10:44

These guys are at around 500 on type but with 800tt. There are probably more pilots with higher experience.

payforlife 18th Aug 2014 11:04

I guess the 1500TT requirement played against them. I've been told NAS is quite strict on that.

FlyingOfficerKite 18th Aug 2014 12:35

Guys

I've read the whole Thread so I hope the answers to the following questions are not obvious?

1. Is the reason NAS are sourcing non-type rated FOs due simply to a lack of suitable type rated candidates in the market against projected future requirement?

2. How are 'contractors' paid (UK candidates):
  • Own Limited Company;
  • 'Umbrella' company;
  • as 'self-employed' (sole trader)?
3. Depending upon the answer to Question (2), is tax deducted at source, or are you paid gross and left to sort out your own tax and deductions (mention of 'tax certificate' required in an earlier Post)?

4. What is the current position regarding the likelihood of experienced FOs being employed as a contractor and progressing to the LHS (website states: '12. Command upgrade within the group of contract pilots possible after 12 months hiring.' is this happening in practice, or is it mainly from within the permanently employed FOs)?

Thanks in anticipation.

Fly Gosh: Norwegian Air Shuttle Pilot Recruitment - Non rated and rated Captains & First Officers ( CPL / IR )

Kite, more chance to be upgraded as a Contract FO, than as a "Core FO" & more chance to retain your Command, rather than being dumped back in the RHS on a seasonal basis. . . . go figure. :hmm:

bairni 18th Aug 2014 15:23

I sent my application yesterday evening and received a positive answer within 24hrs. The next step for me is to complete the online assessment.
I'm not rated with close to 3000 hrs on Multi Pilot Aircraft (EFIS Turboprop).

Greetings

FlyingOfficerKite 18th Aug 2014 15:29

captplaystation:

Thanks for that. The reason for the question was that my experience in the past with some operators has been that of 'employed as an FO, always an FO', with less chance of promotion due to the uncertain/fixed term of the contract.
