Probably not popular but, as posted here before, BA interview to fill up the jobs. Once full, interviews stop. That's it.

Therefore the earlier you get the interview the better chance you have of getting in as once 80 (ish) suitable applicants are found, plus a percentage for potential sim failures, this block of recruiting will stop until the next financial agreement.

Thus, the numbers don't matter, the timing of your interview does!

Have fun!!!

Hi Wobble

what's the normal way they use to bail your application out of the window?Do they send you an email or they reply on your BA application page?Just to be ready:E

Just out of interest, does anyone on the inside of BA know what the numbers are for the "overwhelming response". Are we talking national lottery figures?
Dear Chap birdseye
my application reference number is one thousand and something and i closed my application recently.I think that gives you the idea about what "overwhelming";)means

SuperHornet 7th Oct 2010 13:10

I am not sure if I am looking at the same BA recruitment site, but I can't see the message which says the closing date is 8th of October. Also I can't see a reference anymore to the hours and currency requirements. Did they drop this in the last few days, or am I missing something?!?

Cheers!

I assume that they send an E-Mail but, as I'm sure you're aware, I never got one! :E

Then again, the 'E-Mail' back then was still delivered by the postie in an envelope. :(

Dr Ecam,

I think you might find that the application ref number you refer to is specific to the job vacancy and not your specific application. I certainly can't find an individual application number anywhere in my details.

None the less, I expect the number of applications is probably in the thousands and not the hundreds. :\

Ed :ok:

VJW 7th Oct 2010 14:29

Indeed the auto reply I got says, 'Thank you for completing your application form for Ref. UKLHR1118, Direct Entry Pilot Scheme.'

This doesn't mean I'm the 1118th application, it's the ref number attached to position.

Still nothing heard - eeeek :)

DoctorEcam 7th Oct 2010 14:46

many thanks folks!

DoctorEcam 7th Oct 2010 14:50

And last but not least

i think that it will take some time to hear from the Rivers.Since the closing date is tomorrow i think they will wait until the deadline is over and then they will start analizing the cv's
so enjoy your flying and don't think about it;)

VJW 7th Oct 2010 14:59

I would normally agree, but someone above recently said he had an email from BA today saying his application wasn't complete and this wasn't an automated reply. This leads me to think someone has gone and had a look - and they are indeed going through them now? Am I wrong? Who knows!

Foe f@ck sake stop stressing you bunch of women, if its meant to be its meant to be.

massiveheed 7th Oct 2010 18:06

the email from BA says that applications have to be in by midnight friday 8th. Now call me stupid for not being able to tell the time properly but do they mean 0000hrs tonight or 2359hrs tomorrow??

Might need a tad more time to improve the application but not sure if I have the time.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that until I read further on in the email:

If you have not already returned to ba.com and completed your application, please ensure you do so by the deadline of midnight on the 8th October...
...so tomorrow night I think.

Heffer 7th Oct 2010 19:49

Strictly speaking midnight of the 8th is tonight (Thursday)...

ChocksAwayUK 7th Oct 2010 20:48

That is kind of true but still not definitive. Looks like we're not the first to have this dilemma as this discussion shows. See also wiki. Wonder what BA recruitment think. Anyone planning to submit their application tomorrow, do let us know!

er.. thread drift.

buzz boy 7th Oct 2010 22:44

Quote from BA email:

If you have not already returned to ba.com and completed your application, please ensure you do so by the deadline of midnight on the 8th October or it will not be possible for it to be considered under this campaign.

Seems pretty clear to me.

ChocksAwayUK 7th Oct 2010 23:27

Fab, wish someone posted that earlier.

Yorkshire-Pud 8th Oct 2010 09:00

........Seriously, some of you are joking - right ?

It says midnight Friday, so applications in by midnight Friday perhaps ?

Lord help the folks at the Rivers

Cool, when is midnight Friday? ;)

Midnight actually falls exactly between two days so it is neither one or nor the other, or it is both. To remove this ambiguity it is convention to describe midnight as 00.00 (as the BA email does) to describe the beginning of the designated day or 24.00 to describe the end of the designated day. By this reasoning the application window closed last night. Not sure that's what they meant though as the site still lets you start an application.

edit: Nice one VJW... what dates are they offering?

Alpagueur320 8th Oct 2010 10:18

I didn't apply at all, but a friend of mine just informed me he got invited for the interview... I wish him good luck! :ok:
