Not the first case, won’t be the last, as long as we keep going hiring pilots with previous logbook copies.
All airlines should simply standardize their hiring documentation: certificate of command upgrade and certification of hours flown for every previous airline.
Better also on the pilot side so you don’t have to spend 1 hour to fill the company hours flown when applying for a position.

Can't recall any case of European pilots with fake documents
On the other hand, the crew of a learjet which crashed in Mexico City, had fake type rating, a South African pilot had a fake license which was discovered after an incident in Germany, industry of cheating pilot on exams in India, etc etc
EU AOC companies which hire ICAO pilots must be blacklisted both by pilots and passengers, at least until some formal measures will be taken, I am afraid only after accidents

This guy didn’t have a fake license - he didn’t have previous PIC time to join as PIC basically. That’s why I say ditch the logbooks - ask for previous company reference letters with hours flown sent by a representative of said Company et voilà.

Hi together,

I am looking for options to leave my lovely irish "harp" airline after almost 10 years(I can't stand the tone and this abusive emails/memos anymore, let's even not talk about the rest....anyway)there - i entered already as a DEC, so plenty experience, including previous longhaul command(yep, the 5/4 lured me in + they gave me "my" base) and flying accross the globe alomst everywhere(except the americas, only SEP over there a very long time ago)..

Maybe someone likes to anwer some questions about Avion, seems they are searching(even with instagram) and the offer that they pay for my uniform got me exited(, just kidding) after 10 years.....

Seems they got this guy flying without license, any other insights into the company(as well PM is perfectly fine)? Only Airbus rated guys? Or do they take 737 skippers(nope, did not drop them a mail yet, wanted to check here first)? Pay? Social(home country?) Taxes? Anything you like to contribute. Thank you!

Mate, they will put you in the left seat tomorrow if you apply.

Taxes? Thats your responsibility. They give you a gross salary and its up to you what you do with it, they couldnt give a rat's. I imagine people set up a self employed contract and try to achieve tax residency somewhere that has good tax rates. Potential for expensive/illegal mistakes if not managed properly, but its totally up to you.

Apply, go for an interview and sus it out.. But say good bye to a stable roster and any sort of fixed pattern or predictability. It may suit some, you get to go to interesting places from time to time I hear.

Why not apply for Emirate DEC with your experience or Easy Non type DEC?

Most would agree that Avion would be a backwards move from Ryan

It's not self employed any more. Now we have a employee contract from Malta. So your salary is net and you have your "normal" taxes to pay

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in this case your salary is gross and becomes net after you pay your taxes.

Thanks all for your fedback gents - did some homework in the meantime and came to the same conclusions. Would be a step back from Ryan(at least they pay before the end of the month and roster is predictable).

Quote "Why not apply for Emirate DEC with your experience or Easy Non type DEC?" Unquote

First of all I had my experience in the ME(QR) many years ago as DEC, plus, for EK I fly the "wrong" manufacturer in command(Boeing, EK only does Airbus DEC). As for "Easy" - they have a tendency to close bases I want to be as I hate commuting(especially on own expenses and a need to run/rent a second "household"). So Easy is not really an option either.

Seems I will sit this one out with Ryan for the time, doing my 20 sectors in 5 days.... at least from my home. Pilots "luxury" 2025....

A friend of mine told me the assessment was pretty hard. He just finished his type rating (self sponsored) and had to do all kinds of things he was never taught during the TR and they didn't care. Anyway.. I think the salary is very low, so it's better to stay away from this company
