Anyone who made it to Avion Express recently via BAA or Eagle Jet has some feedback? Would be highly appreciated.
Thank you! Blue skies to everyone!

I just read on PPJN (pilotjobsnetwork) that they lost 200 pilots this summer and more are planning to leave this winter. Anyone knows if this is true?

I believe most people just stay for a year while the license validation lasts

it is, the slight difference in winter condition didn't convince much people to stay. A lot of pilots are actively trying to find a better place

Nothing will happen, every winter same none-sense in ASG companies. They always find enough crew, and they will always find enough whatever it takes. Your leave or 200 pilot leave (which will never happen) will never change anything. Cadets, pay2fly, ICAO pilots from all over the world (thanks to EASA and local authorities), pilots from war zones and so on. As long as somebody do not protect this market (national authorities, European Union and so on) and our rights, conditions will never be as we wish.

Hello Everyone,

I recently saw the job offer for an A320 Captain position with Avion Express.

Could anyone share some insights about it? Specifically:
  • What are the likely base locations?
  • Are we able to choose our base, or is it assigned randomly?
  • Are there any additional benefits included?
  • How many flight hours does a captain typically log each year?
Additionally, is the company planning any expansion?

Thanks so much for your time and help!

Best regards.

  • Most likely bases would be STR / AYT / HAM / MTY / GDL / NLU / CUN / MEX. There are a bunch of other smaller bases + other seasonal contracts in the winter (i.e. Vietnam).
  • You can’t choose your base but you can send your preference.
  • Other benefits include 1 month paid vacation, 5K yearly bonus, travel / medical insurance, loss of license insurance, positioning flights paid for from your residence anywhere in the world, accomodation with at least breakfast and laundry.
  • ~ 600 hours per year, less if you take unpaid leave over winter or reduce your pattern.
Big expansion plans within the company and the wider group.

During the rotation, do you operate from the same base?

Also, with EASA license, do you operate only in EU or they can send you all over the world.

During the rotation you can operate from another base with positioning via plane, bus or any other mean. and concerning the choice you can always ask but you never get what you ask
With an EASA licence you can operate in all bases. The only exception being the brazilian AOC as you need brazilian citizenship.

This is true but it hasn’t happened to me yet, with the exception of just after being checked out. And I’ve been here a quite a while.

That sucks to hear, I’ve always gotten my requests.

Mad Jack you sound like an Avion Express promoter either from the HR or from a recruiting agent....

You only created your profile to transmit fake news dedicated to Avion promotion...

Unfortunately Avion targets the market pilot leftovers...so the promotion campaign is very easy based on the targeted individuals...

Except that I’m not and you sound like a miserable d***. I am just happy where I am, and I wanted to provide some factual insights into the terms and conditions, so that even if just one pilot joins and finds the same level of job and lifestyle satisfaction that I have, I feel I have made a positive contribution, and that is what drove me to post about Avion. I have nothing else to gain, not even the referral bonus, I couldn’t care less.

Avion is not for everyone, it has to be compatible with your tax authority and your preferred lifestyle. For me it works and I am cruising. I fly less than 600 hours per year, I operate from bases all over the world, I have lots of consecutive time at home and I bank 110,000EUR in my pocket for doing so. Most importantly, I am happy where I am. I wish you the same.

Which tax authority is happy to not make you pay taxes, or that little? I want to move there

How long is the line training for DECs?

Do you get only the base salary (6000/10000) until the release?

Hello Captain!

I performed my pilot assessment with Avion Express as an ICAO pilot and I was successful and now i'm waiting for new groups.
So, reading your comment I'd like to ask you to clarify to me how Avion's travel and health insurance benefits work.

Thank you in advance.

I am so confused now having read through all the tread regarding the company as a whole. Is there anyone actually working
in Avion at present who is Willing to PM me so I can discuss with them what’s it actually like working in Avion of course I understand
every company has its pros and cons but it can’t be all bad right?
