It saves the cost of having to do base training in a 777 where supposedly only cycling the gear once costs 4.5k in maintenance costs.

But even once you become FO, you still have cruise relief duties. You can expect about 300 landings over 10 years (thats according to their math).
Thank you, well It’s long Haul, sounds reasonable 300 landing over 10years, which means 30 per year. Anyway I don’t speak German, I have no chance to get called for an assessment

No, you need basically:
- 4000 widebody hrs (can be have flown anywhere and on other types than 777)
- 1000 hours within the company
- seniority.

The last point 'seniority' is not that restrictive as it sounds, because
(1) the company is growing very fast, 3 new a/c are expected to be delivered this year and at least 8 more are guaranteed for the next 3 years. There are even rumours that these numbers might change upwards. Right now there are only 23 a/c, so it will be growing of almost 50% within the near future, which will result in many upgrades of F/Os.
(2) of a relatively high fluctuation. There are quite a few young F/Os resigning to join condor, discover etc. And additionally there are a lot old Ex-KLM captains, who had to leave KLM due to age (58 is the max. age @ KLM) and will have to leave AeroLogic soon as well upon reaching the age of 65. And therefore I think there are only few companies (if at all) where you can become a captain on a widebody in such a short time.

Currently the only bottleneck is the capacity for training.

Compare that with starting at a LH subsidiary, you are looking at 70k at AUA & Cityline/CityAirline, and 90k at Swiss.

Its not a bad deal at all, but i think the plus points come from the type of flying, not the pay (and having to be based in leipzig).
You need to check yourself a bit before saying stuff like that. LH city starting is 4500 Brut for an FO, its all written in the PDF on their application site.

Hi everyone!

I've been invited to an AeroLogic screening for FO direct entry in Berlin on April 8-9, 2025. Is anyone else attending?

I would really appreciate any information about the event. Additionally, I have no details regarding the SIM screening, as AeroLogic hasn’t shared anything. Looking forward for a PM

Thanks in advance!

Hi folks,

Any insider or someone who have good hand info knows if aerologic is a good place to work without living near Leipzig or Frankfurt?
Do they always start the rotation from one of those airports or do they buy you proceedings to and from wherever is the plane?
Is is possible to commute?
I've rear on pilotjobsnetwork that you usually fly 3 long haul rotations a month or so, about 15 to 18 days on and 12 to 15 off, so that sounds plausible to commute, but i could find exact info about how the schedule looks like.

Thanks!

Does anybody know how the home base/operational base thing works? Is it possible to choose to fly out of the operational base?

Base for aerologic is LEJ/EDDP
Huge majority is not living there, but commuting… own costs. Company will not help you on that… one of the reasons the struggle to get pilots.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm living in Frankfurt, so it would've been very handy to fly out from FRA rather than drive 4-5h to LEJ.

Hello everyone,

Can you confirm we can use DHL to commute (as it looks like they go nearly everywhere in Europe)
And what salary can you expect as a FO (let say with 60h per month ) ?

I dont know if you can use the DHL jumpseats, depends who you work for? ;-)
Aerologic can use the DHL jumpseats, but have the lowest priority.
