Direct entry experienced sfos interviews being cancelled. Why? No honesty or integrity at all. No details of salary/contract or base.?? Very strange!

Stay away from this position. Looking to the numbers "offered"... € 70K + perdiems... I wonder if there's anyone interested. At the moment, Portugal is one of the worst places to live in Europe (due to incredibly high taxation). According to my calculations, at the end of the month a PIC will get something like € ~4,000...

Perhaps they are recruiting internally instead? Does anyone else have any news on Lisbon? I think some easy crew would go there for the lifestyle but might not stay for more than two years unless they bring T&C's up i.e. have some type of pension provision...

"Income from 66k to 153k..."

Where did you get that info? Is that both for PIC and FO or just for PIC? Any more details? I'm asking this because the last reliable info I got from them (one week ago) they were offering 77K + perdiems...

I'm just stating that incomes in the range indicated have that kind of taxes in Portugal!

Not saying anything about what the conditions will be. Wouldn't know that, since I'm not in Easyjet!

So that makes: 77K + perdiems then 43,3% tax + 11% SS deduction
And who's going to pay the housing + transportation + utilities + cost of life increadibly high, life + medical insurance, etc? Oh jeez...

Alexander de Meerkat, thanks for the update.

90k for a PIC is better than 77k, but still not enough. For more than that there are local F/Os leaving to the sand pit...

Portugal may be a fantastic place to live... with great food, lots of sun, beautiful golf courses, nice beaches, nice people, very safe to live... but you need do be rich, otherwise your life will become miserable very quickly. No money no fun...

90k basic. Plus sector pay? So more than a UK skipper? How is that a bad deal?

CALCULATOR NEEDED?

Euro 90,000 at current exchange rates is equal to £75,000.

So, not higher pay than a UK Captain. But, on the other hand, it is a step in the right direction - there will be no problem filling the places I suspect.

I can think of a few airlines that cover all this and more. You just have to be prepared to move to where the money and future lie.

If you can hack it, it's a super lifestyle.

What would an average yearly sector pay be? About 20 to 25k Euros?

Getting closer to what the best paying local airlines offer. But still about €10k lower and you can't really compare benefits (staff travel, medical insurance, etc, etc). But I suppose there won't be any trouble filling the positions now.

Wonder how much an FO will make and where they'll come from...
