FO A320 Jobs

I know i'm probably going to be shot for starting this thread.

After spending 3 days trawling the net for A320 Jobs I just want to ask any of you guys 'in the know' if there are any jobs out there for us guyswith little or no experience on type or certainly <500 hours.

I have 150 hours including sim (100 hours without).
I have 2500 hoursTT (2100 on multi-pilot, multi-engine aircraft <50tonnes)

I refuse to jump on the pay to fly band wagon to get the magical 500 hours so as I say i'm just wondering if anyone has heard of anywhere in Europe/Middle East/Asia that are taking on guys.

Any kind of work. Full time, Part time, Ferry flights.

I appreciate any tip offs in advance.

Look around you, you will realise that there are no job ads advertising for anything less than 500 on type. The odd Vietnam ad every now and then specifies 300 hours. Has been this way for over 2 years now

Yes SuperPilot, I have spent days looking around and am fully aware of the very little thats on offer for <500 hours on type.
I was just hoping I might have missed an airline/contract which has lower requirements. Thanks anyway.

Yes, most contracts need 500 hours in Type, so it is going to be tough to get a A320 contract.

Quick question: The company paid for your Type Rating and then cut you loose so quickly? Or did you pay for the Type Rating and are now out some serious cash? I don't get it. What kind of contract did you sign when you flew this 100 or so hours in the A320? Do you have a plan for getting your money back that you invested in the A320 rating...maybe get a lawyer or something..?

Yes, the 100 hrs does look suspiciously like P2F!

Please put us out of our misery )))

Chaps, give the poor guy a break, none of us know his circumstances. Having 100hrs on type doesn't really fit in line with P2F, as far as I know the smallest number of hours you can get from such a scheme is 150, followed by 300 or 500. In my darker days of unemployment I admit to having looked into these schemes very closely. Luckily things worked out and I didn't have to go down that route.

That aside, this poor chap has asked for help, so let's provide it. Maybe he got chopped during line training, maybe the company he flew for lost a contract in the early days of his contract, Astraeus' contract with Aer Lingus last year comes to mind, I'm sure some of the guys hired for that contract flew less than 100hrs before being let go.

Sandpit66, I don't know if you've signed up for Flexicrew with CTC? I know it's not perfect, but I know of chaps with fewer hours on type than you that got interviews with easyJet through them? Wizzair has already been mentioned. Astraeus recently advertised for A320 rated guys with no minimum hours requirement too, as did Aer Lingus. Good luck with the search and hang on in there.

easyJet do not do this. They used to a few years back but no longer offer these pay for your rating and 150hrs line training. Not sure whether bmi still do it though.

Sandpit

Maybe look further afield as UK not a good place for you unless you can get in at easyJet via PARC/CTC or Astraeus. Try the likes of Air Asia or Tiger Airways or Indigo.

Ha

easyJet = only cadets via CTC/PARC or those with at least 150 on type but again via CTC
Astraeus= Advertised recently with no FO time on type stipulated but guess whose not gonna get called?
Aer Lingus = Seem to be interviewing some people with just the bare rating and TT in excess of 1000 but with so much competition....
Air Asia = No expat FOs
Tiger Airways = 1,000 multicrew, 500 on type
Wizz Air = Similar to Tiger
Indigo = No expat FOs

the time to find a job on the 320 is over.
EU airlines have no more orders, too many pilots, few jobs.

only a fool will go for a rating on the 320.

I know it, I have several friends, with 320 TR, no hours, and no job.
Seriously, if you want make a living, I think it's time to change job.I don't see any real improvement for the next 7 years.

(whatever I say, thousand of 22yo wanabes will throw money at these TRTOs anyway.they are so ignorant, videogames don't make them very clever.)
