That wasn't the question fizzy. It's not a good idea to post when you don't know what you're talking about.

That's the first part of the natural selection process.

What arrestahook is trying to say is that the closing date was on the 27th October.

Just to also let you know the PFO's are on the way out:

Thank you for your application for the above position and for your interest in Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd - UK.

The Recruiting Manager has screened all the applications and I am sorry to inform you that on this particular occasion, your application has not reached the shortlist for the next stage.

Due to the high volume of applications received, we are unable to offer individual feedback, but would stress that should you wish to re-apply for this position, you wait at least six months. However, should any other advertised opportunities prove to be of interest, you can apply immediately.

Down 3 Greens.

What!?!?!?!?

With the legions of P2F wannabees and the constant erosion of terms and conditions within our industry, why on earth would anyone not think employment by VAA is at least a reasonable option?

I'm absolutely certain that some people have received interview offers. VAA don't need lots of people. Just the right people I'm guessing. Who knows?

Cheers!

Backburner, I received an email 2 days ago for an assessment day, so dont think it is "iffy."
I have +4300hrs total time currently rated on 320 with approx 3600hrs of time on 757/767.

I got the invite e-mail a few days ago. I am A320 rated with 3000 hours on type. Some friends that are A340 rated have been given the invite and some of my colleagues that are A320 rated have had the rejection e-mails.

Not sure how they have selected people this time round?

Good luck to those attending selection this month

I rang recruitment earlier and they told me they would resume the process at a later date but they were not very specific when.

I was speaking to a VS pilot in JHB the other day and he mentioned that some/all of the A330s that VS ordered are being transferred to Virgin Blue (Aus).

I also received the invite. The plans for the A330's seem odd to say the least. My research tells me only 2 will arrive with the rest being sub-leased out, due first class seat not being available! Is the plan to operate these aircraft to gain ETOPS approval/experience before the 787's arrive? Will the A330's then be removed?

TBE.

Jet Man "I was speaking to a VS pilot in JHB the other day and he mentioned that some/all of the A330s that VS ordered are being transferred to Virgin Blue (Aus)."

Incorrect I'm afraid, a rumour floating around the pilot ranks!
Virgin Aus have ordrered A330-200's, VA have ordered A330-300's.
3 of VA's A330-300's are rumoured to be heading to the Far East, until the new J class suite is ready.
