Pretty much the same thing really, application on hold due to available spaces.
Seriously how many contracts were on offer in the first place and how many were recruited via the agency?

Looks like im going to be out of work till next year

I hear they have over recruited slightly for the 757, so not looking great for offers on that fleet. Can't commet on 737.

You don't actually believe that do you? It is a PFO, nothing else.

Depends what you've been told. Apparently there's a pool of 100 pilots who have passed the assessment centre and can be called on if there's any drop outs. Not sure if these are people coming by Zenon, or direct to Jet2.

Makes no sense. Why spend the money assessing 100+ pilots with no intention to hire them other than 'back ups'?

I realise this is a bit nosey but, do you have Boeing time, and if not what is the nearest type to a 737 you are experienced on?

CC, nope, none. Emb 195 is the closest thing to it, or maybe the 146, from the inside anyway!

I applied as an experienced none TR (2500 all jet) in April and again in October 2011, hadn't heard anything other than the standard automated reply so decided to ring and find out what the crack was. Was told that things had wrapped up for the end of the year and would be reviewed again in the new year. Since then called again and was told by an assistant that 'recruitment has moved on but that's all I can say'.

What does that mean?

HR have been overrun by applications so give them a break. There are only so many hours in a day. Just be patient and you just may get the call you've been waiting for.

Place is run by grade 1 A holes doing the recruiting now. They're having a mare in training because of it.
I think such a statemnent is more a reflection on you than on the HR department.... Grow up!

It's a move I really want to make so I am very patient. I did initially apply in April last year though so would have thought that was enough time.

Fingers crossed eh!

Anyone on here from Jet2 who'd be prepared to answer one or two (probably) noddy questions?

Ex-mil stude in the redundancy pipe post-SDSR, licences complete and breaking out a few applications...

Assessment in Nov successful and told am on the list for consideration. Anyone from the company any idea how many of us are in the pool and for how many vacancies? Strange in these times to go to expense of mass assessment if no real intent to hire!
Fingers crossed!

A few years ago, Jet2 worked on recommendations, an interview with a couple of pilots, including the CP and with the head of HR. A simple verbal reasoning and maths test, and it seemed to work pretty well. The guys on the line (bar the crazy contractors) were good.

Today's recruitment process in overly long and protracted. There are countless numbers of HR people invloved. Jet2 is an organization which prides itself on low-cost in all it does; lots of HR doesn't seem to me to fit into that at all. It seems empire building is well under way. This is the same HR dept which has a odd interpretation of employment law when it comes to closing bases.

I know of several TR F/Os who have passed the assessment, but heard nothing. I know of a few who went through the same process last year, passed, and had to go through it all over again.
