Apprently some guys who were initially turned down at interview are now getting phone calls inviting them back!!

No need to panic though as the MD says that only the loss of 100 pilots would cause problems to the schedule............ and even if there is that number or greater who have applied to the sandpit or the worlds favourite employer, there's no way we'll all get job offers so its ok...

As long as those in 'the gang' continue to obtain promotions for job positions that were created only for them continues, all will be well!

fastidious bob: Yep, finally the last UK airline of 'reasonable size' has BALPA recognition! Talks will take place and things should start to improve although it may take some time. Don't expect Thomson or Monach T & C's overnight!

Application update

Hello folks

Just wondering...has anyone recently succeeded in updating his/her application form for this outfit or re-apply for a job after not receiving ANY feedback at all?

I am one of those that never heard a word from Jet2 and I see the are still looking. OK, I might not fit the bill (Low-hrs/non-rated) but nevertheless I would give it a 2nd go. Unfortunately if I stick in my email address and password I am told they are wrong. Then I try to request the pwd and get

Your login details are no longer current due to being over six months old or removed at your request.
Has anyone encountered the same problem? It looks an IT/website snag to me but before starting everything from scratch I would like to know if there is a way around it...

regards

PZ

At the moment EMA is exclusively a 757 base, but there are always rumours...

Papazulu, unable to answer specifically but I had the same problem with Etihad and that funny lot, BA (!), 757's out of somewhere with clapped out crews, some years ago. In fact, with Etihad, I couldn't even get past the NAME field as it said "This name already in use " !! I managed to pursue that one & even got to speak to the Ops Director who said he would look into it. I never got any further. With the BA operation, I managed hard copy correspondence and was finally told that Recruitment had ceased but no doubt I would find an outlet for my talents ! I did and have not looked back since. However, maybe it is the Web Manager's way of rejecting people they do not really want (?). Oh, finally, a buddy of mine gave up with some lot in Macau when asked for copies of every page of his passport , even blanks. He told them that his computer blew up at the attempt & received a curt reply stating that the company expected all pilots to be "Computer literate". He gave up and, too, has never looked back.

I personally dont understand why these companies want to know the ins and outs of your arsehole!!

Why would the need to know your passport number and have copies of every page of your passport plus your NI number before you even got the job!! This is seriously a security threat or is it just big brother? I remember filling an app out for a middle eastern company that wanted details of my families passport numbers, seriously is that necessary how about I tell them my bank details whilst im at it!

Yep I do, sounds like you think its something special, unlike some people I wouldn't apply if I wasn't qualified for the position

FTL

And this will now become, not a limititaion (FTL) but 1,000 hours will be used for planning purposes! Imagine you are knackered already and then the company load you up with another 10% on top! Breaking point approaches!

Good luck chaps!

O'Neill.

It's by far not a done deal that EASA FTL will come into force in 2012 there's a long way to go yet. If you go onto the EASA website you can (as an individual) comment to the Commission on the proposals. If it does come into effect you need to get BALPA onto the case to stay at 900hrs from an Industrial aspect

OK so I've just had a phone call inviting me for the selection later. Of course, I asked what it consists of, but if anyone has some more detailed & current info; highly appreciated!

Well that's good news, as far as I am concerned, not a very good outfit. Got acknowledgement and a call to say they were interested, rang them straight back, nothing, every week I phoned, same response, they are very busy and my call will be passed to the relevant department for a call back. Still waiting. Called again but told, no recruitment! Really!!

They might want to know everything about people in the application but they should really try learning some basic recruitment skills and manners!

Rant over!

Recruitment Process

My experience Jan 2011

I had been trying to get acknowledgment through the Bond system with no joy. I decided to send an email with CV attachment, within 1 hour I received a response saying they have my CV, Thank-you and the relevant department would be in touch. One week later I noticed a missed call with a message, I phoned back and within minutes was confirmed for an assessment day. I was told an email would follow and within 10 min I had an email confirming.

My problem was with the Bond system but everyone I spoke too at recruitment were professional and helpful.

Guys,

What does a full time captain take home per month incl flying pay and allowances after Tax?
I'm an FO but got quite a few hours...just trying to plan for the future on whether the salary is worth moving to Jet2 for or accepting job elsewhere. Obviously the FO's salary is very low for Market standard but was hoping the command pay is somewhat different??? I sense some disappointing replies to this...

salary

ATC, in my opinion the FO salary is not very low (if you are on 100%). Granted it is not the best but there are, and have been, many out there lower! As for command I too am interested but I think it is circa £70,000.

Despite reading all the pages trying to get the bits of info together, anyone able to offer some definate details to the questions below ? i know some are on ppjn.com but not sure how accurate/upto date they are.

Whats the FO basic salary ? or take home average overt the year?
whats a typical 757 roster like in the summer ? how many days off as average?(man or leeds base)
what other benefits are there - pension, loss of licence, death in service etc etc
what routes do the 757 usually do ?

and just out of interest (possibly a good laugh depending on the replies) whats thefuture of the 757 atjet2 any rumours ? more of them ? replace with 737800? any other future plans rumours forjet2 ?

thanks, and for those that will ask 757 rated FO, 2000 on type.
