Talk is that they are really struggling to get people to join on these terrible terms. Great news - well done to everyone for turning them down, because soon they are going to have to start paying a proper salary (100%) and maybe bond for the type rating instead of asking for £20k upfront.

Go to the interview, pass the selection and then turn down the rubbish offer. It seems this is the only way management are going to realise.

Maybe we can all hold hands and by numbers drop our trousers together. I am sure we could come up with a long slogan to write across our arse cheeks.

PAPI 74

I think we can go to the assessment with the knowledge there are soon to be plenty of better offers out there.

Current recruiters - GSS another crap deal and poor pay; BA type rated only but if the posters on that thread are anything to go by ( most can't spell and read / follow simple instructions) they will soon be looking for experienced TP guys; Ba Cityflyer - maybe we will operate from LCY next year!; Openskies: Luftansa Italia; etc etc including two 747 cargo operators in Lux.

Looks like the job market is picking pretty quickly. And not everyone can screw the life out of rich kids with ratings.....

So go to Jet2.com, pull down your pants, and don't forget to smile.

I notice this describes the Job as permanent. Is that permanently 70% Jet2?

Received a phone call this evening asking me whether i could attend an assessment day on the 14th of this month, quick check on the roster and explained I was on a Edi / Ams and couldn't do that date, I asked if that was the only date available?

The response was " Errrrrrr well we don't even have that date confirmed I am just ringing around to see how many can make it"!!!

It is like they are making it up as they go along, the chap was however very polite and friendly but seemed almost embarrassed by having to be so vague.

He said he would keep my application live and that I might get another phone call to screen me. I took the opportunity to ask whether it was 70% or 100%, the response was it would almost certainly be 70%, he asked if i would consider that and i said it was not ideal, an awkward silence later he said well i'll keep it live and we'll be intouch!!!

My experience is TR 737 1500hrs on type, 1750+TT so maybe they are running out of people prepared to pay who knows, for me personally I'd struggle to live on 70% pay.

Just thought I'd pass it on.....

Dan
that mirrors my experience this afternoon. Can't make it due to roster clash. He said he'd pass it back to HR and they may have to look at more dates.

Hi 73A
How long was it from the phone interview until being asked to come for the assessment.

Hi
Didn't have a phone interview. Just this call saying could I come up for open day! Maybe as I am already rated! Don't know really. But was just over a month ago when I applied.

T777...

Sorry to hear you got the PFO email today mate. PM me when you get a mo and I may have something of interest to you though.

I'm still waiting for some sort of contact from J2. Spoke to them yesterday and aparantly they're still absolutely buried in applications so will be sifting through fo some time to come yet. Frustrating not knowing either way though.

It seems that those who took 70% part time at the last recruitment are being offered full time now. However, having worked the busy summer at 70% pay on the assumption they would have the winter off, they would now move to 100% pay and work the winter without 100% pay being backdated for the summer. Seems a bit preconceived to me.

Good Q about the salary start / hotels - anyone?

How do they come to the sum of 25k for a TR?
I guess the change goes in a brown envelope

Hi,
Am I the only one who asked any questions at the assessment day? Pay starts when type on license, no pay during TR training. TR may cost around £16k not £25k. Phone calls tomorrow. Maybe!!!

Well 16k is more like it, but 6 weeks without pay is tipping the bloody scale back again.

What the f?ck....

So, let me get straight on this.

A "chap" from jet2 calls up and asks if you'd like to attend an "information day" some time soon.

The answer is "NO, I WOULD NOT".

What can they possibly tell you about the company? Nothing, I would say.

What can you (or we as a group) tell them about us as pilots by agreeing to such a spineless, non commital offer? Loads: in fact just how low you (we) will stoop to sit in a jet.

Get serious. Jet2 are a professional outfit, testing the market. They know what they want: cheap pilots.

Don't be a fool.
