I have some general questions for the group:
1. How many people will likely be hired in the coming months (estimated total number)?
2. Is Milano the only pilot base for newhires (non Lufthansa)?
3. Is speaking Italian a requirement?
4. What are the estimated average night stops and days off per month (for newbies)?
Good luck to everyone in the process!

1. 30-40 'till spring, and a total of 76 in the next few years.
2. It's Milan Malpensa, an hour driving from Milan.
3. It's and advantage, not a must. I am pretty sure they are hiring more foreigners then Italians.
4. For the meanwhile the night stop should be only Paris. Days off : 9!
All the best

Hotel Nearest DLR Centre
Hi all,
Anyone know which Ibis Hotel is nearest to the DLR centre?
I'm going to attend the assessment on 28/01/11, anyone else going on that date?
Good luck to everyone in the meantime.

Question about VMC
Hey!
I have never heard about anybody reaching the FQ on this particular subject. (Lufthansa DLR Italia)
I was actually hoping that somebody could help me answer a question about the DLR training software.
It's about the VMC (Visual Memory scan), during this task you are asked to memorize symbols and answer if they are the same as '2 back' / '3 back' etc. However, when I read the instructions they say that the symbols have to match in: Shape & Color.
When I practice this VMC, I notice that sometimes the computer shows for example a blue circle with white strips turning from the outside to the inside and end in the in the center (center = white), the next also a blue circle with white stripes going around but these white stripes are thicker and the center of this symbol is BLUE........ Almost the same but not 100%
No can somebody please tell me if these symbols are to be considered the same?
I appreciate it! Good luck everybody!

Hey guys,
Sorry to bother with some more DLR questions..
I am struggling with VMC and ROT,
I mean i can turn a dice in my mind, I am just struggling with the rules a bit, to me they are not so clear. When start position is front and then command is left, do they mean it turns left to my left, or from the dice perspective,
And with VMC, anyone had some tips? I keep getting around 70% at level 3 the whole time because of those 4-back and 5 back sets. Does anyone have some sort of trick?
Much appreciated!

Hey FlyingSerb,
With regard to "ROT", all instructions must be understood with reference to YOUR position. A "LEFT" command means that you have to mentally tip the cube on its left face, that's to say to make it roll towards the left side of your screen. Never turn the cube around its axis !
Regarding "VMC", I think you work the right way. Your results are already fairly good and should keep improving with training.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers

Hey NAVEX,
Thanks for the relpy, much appreciated!
I am going to start working with you're ROT tips, i kinda figured out now what i've been doing wrong, was turning around the axis in stead of tipping over.
Thanks for the help,
Goodluck to the rest!
Happy Landings
