Post Blowholes and blowhards.

Surely you mean Brookfield?
Good evening Fred. Yes, you're quite right, I do mean Brookfield. And perhaps were you to spend less time in the land of smug self-satisfaction and more in the land of the truth, you'd feel less inclined to advertise your peculiar brand of light-aircraft, couscous-fueled superiority. I'm happy for you that you eat so well, truly I am, and to be sure you make my €5.50 toasted Ryanair panini sound rather poorly by comparison, but then I'm not one bad landing or a disgruntled Russian slut away from summary dismissal, am I? Such are my choices in life, Fred. Such are yours. All power to ya, old boy, but keen as I know you are on the subject of Slim baiting, lets you and I try to be friends, eh? I feel quite sure old Slim will have plenty to say on the subject when he's released from solitary.

But I digress. Perhaps you'll find the following helpful, Fred.

So that you can convince us all of this claim I will ask you (again!), what do Ryanair pay into your pension?
Nocturnal Emission99 demands attention, and so he shall have it.

The answer to you question as to what Ryanair pays into my pension each month, night squirt, is zero. Nada, nothing, not an iota. Not a brass farthing, or the smallest of razoo. I hope that clears things up for you.

To this I should add that, before social obligations, I made €18,200 last month. Of that, I placed €10,000 into my self managed retirement fund; high yielding equities mainly, because I'm of the view that retirement planning, like so much else in life, is MY responsibility and no one else's. Besides, I trust my own financial judgment far further than I would the unseen hand of so-called pensioned legacy carriers. For further details, consult the dwarf of County Wicklow and the Tailwind divestment syndicate, or as I like to call it, the leveraged negative equity dance club. I can't speak for other pilots in my situation, but then I'm just a common or garden-variety Ryanair throttle monkey, nothing special, and so I imagine my financial story is not an isolated one.

A lie doesn't get true by repeating it endlessly.
Last word to studi, that plucky doyen of the shrill, batsqueek of meaningless dissent. You'd do well to remind BLAPA of the truth of your words. Clearly, they represent a lesson yet to be taken aboard.

but there’s that pesky little thing called truth that oft gets in the way
Every other airline is downsizing or going bust
Ho hum. Mine isn't. But I'm sure that doesn't bother you Leo.

I'm not a member of BALPA.
I've never paid for a type rating. (Any of the 4)
Or I.D.
Or my uniform.
Or parking.
Or any accomodation whilst on duty.
Or slept in my car.
Or had to be just soooo defensive of my employer.
I've done 7 days work in the last 5 weeks, I think 16 sectors.
I'm on a permanent contract, I get paid even if I don't fly.
I couldn't care less how much you get paid.
Or how new and shiney your 737 is, mine is newer and shinier by the way.

I've never applied to Ryanair, nor would I. Ever.

You are not the be all and end all of modern commercial aviation.

Oh yes, rapid commands. I had one and a lot of others have too. It is not the domain of Ryanair.

The Real Slim Shady Is Back In The House

Hey Welshman

Great innit having the power to make statements about whatever and whoever and then ban people when you don't like what they say!!

Waste of bandwidth.

I leave you with this:

BA - £292 Million losses, £4Bn hole in the pension fund, job cuts, redundancies
EasyJet - cutbacks, losses, possible redundancies
bmibaby - redundancies, losses, cutbacks and FR ready to finish them off at home at EMA
Jet2 - FR move in they move out
VS - Redundancies, losses forecast
Aer Lingus - about to disappear into airline Valhalla
bmi - Vorsprung Durch Technik - is mainline part of LH plans? Or are the slots more valuable than the people?

FR - Yields down, profits recovering, no redundancies, expansion on going, but no crew meals.

So to you and Fred with his lemon scented pot pourri, scuttling around the shiny bizjet he prostitutes his services on, adieu and once again adieu.

There's a common theme here with posters like Leo Camel and Slim Shandy and that's the venal nastiness of their tone. It's simply not officer class.

One revelation from this thread is the Camel, judging by his claimed income, is unlikely to be a member of the line pilot fraternity - suspect he's one of those odd creatures - namely the management pilot. Explains a lot, dunnit?

Slim, you can do better than to resort to cheap insults like that. Play the ball, not the man.

SAS,

You're right.

But I was pissed: I found out that night that my friend from teenage years that I trawled the world with, played football with for the local team etc etc had died.

RIP Norman: we might have been crap at footie but at least we tried.

EasyJet - cutbacks, losses, possible redundancies
Pray tell - where does that come from??

What cutbacks?

What losses?

What redundancies?

You are certainly not referring to the easyJet I work for!

Or did solitary send you even more barking?

OK

Let's all Kick the Idiot.

Try speaking to the EZ crew at EMA, particularly the cabin crew, on the bus from the car park to work in the morning and discover for yourself how worried they are.

Cutbacks........lemme guess.....the EZ orange jets at EMA are just a mirage!

You know the ones I mean, Kick the Idiot, the ones that won't be there come January because of cutbacks!!!

Slim

There are no planned redundancies at easyjet. The Luton consultation finished already and there will be no changes to staff numbers there. All affected staff at EMA will be offered a position elsewhere on the network...the aircraft are being redeployed elsewhere, not parked up. That's just a risk of the profession... I'm sure RYR pilots appreciate that MOL might well decide to "relocate" them in the future should the need arise.

It's easy to make grand statements without actually getting to the bottom of the matter. Didn't RYR just move out of Manchester?... didn't they say they were cutting flights at STN this winter? Didn't MOL only the other day say that rapid expansion might halt should a deal with boeing fall though? Quoting headlines means nothing and gives no real indication of the situation on the ground.

As for losses, guess you'll just have to wait till the 17th to see the full year results. However, I don't think "losses" will feature somehow.

Shady,

with the current BRK contract you would have to fly 145.6 hours/month to make that kinda money as a line Capt.
or 132.3/month as a Line Trainer
or 126.8/month as a TRI
or 121.7/month as a TRE
all before tax, the 3% accountant charge and all other self employed expenses.

We would all love to have your contract, who do we ask for that?

Thanks to Vee two for answering that - but you forgot RYR pulling out of VLC, any others?

Whilst being mildly amused by Slims post in the past, I do find his name calling childish and obnoxious.

A sign of insecurity I think.

Or perhaps insults are his only tool seeing as all his arguments seem to fall at the first hurdle.

Manchester was never a base (ie aircraft overnighting there) purely a destination that we flew to

Closest bases in the area LPL and BHX.

slim,

no redundancies at ryr

how do you make people redundant when they weren't employed by ryr in the first place?

as a significant proportion of ryr pilots are now crookfield contractors redundancies no longer apply

slim, sorry to keep adding to the list......

Ryanair will close its six Basel routes from 2 December following a dispute over the airport’s charges.

Airports are getting wise to bully-boy tactics!
