I would be interested to know how much a new hire would get in comparison to yourself.
EG. Same aircraft, same base etc.

Channel Islands base Turbo-prop F/O

£1500, not a lot when you consider we get good tax breaks here.

Air-Fair - at that salary I think you'll find the 'tax breaks' are negligible. You only start to get ahead if you would have been a UK higher rate payer. Just out of curiosity are we talking Guernsey or Jersey?

Midland Captain:-

Just over £3000. Allowances cover expenses so don't count. Great crews - awful rosters with long turnrounds and max duty days.

FedEx A-300/310 FO, third year pay. Last four months of 2000, with vacation in Oct. (off for 35 days). Averaged $12,074.00 USD (about 8,213 GBP) per month gross pay, and $9,449.00 USD (6,447 GBP) after all deductions and taxes. Not paying much tax because of where I live though.

weekly pay of around £1500 STG. Self employed, so work out my own tax from what I take as a wage. Some contracting Engineers can earn double this if you put in the hours

$0000.00! I had vacation and gave away! Funny, my husband says "The more I make; the less you work"! I like that! Back to the flying next month. Just a pilot wannabe at heart!

A couple of years ago we had this chap in the flight deck for a visit. He said, "so, you blokes must be on a fair old whack"? "Yeah" I said, he`s (pointing to the Captain)on £2 million/year and I am on £1 million. Oh! he says, "I thought you would be on more".
