Application forms abusive in lengh!
Just out of curiousity..
How many of you experienced professional pilots finally don t fill in the application forms due to the over extensive information required(school marks, copy of photograph/logbook/LPC/Medical/driver licence/ex employers......)
Wouldnt a cv suffice for the inintial selection? or is this more to do with the airline recruiters to reduce the number of application?(IE if a pilot badly wants to work for us he/she will go through all the steps)
Went to check EVAAIR..would be interested but the application is 10 pages long!!

Yeah, I bet people are really annoyed when they spend years of their lives and thousands of pounds of their own money to qualify as an airline pilot and then they find that after all that they're faced with a 10-page form.
I would imagine most will throw their hand in at that point and apply to their local Tesco for a job instead.

Filling in all these documents is the 1st step of the selection.
(future) employer can see once motivation for joining + assess the precision with which the extensive paperwork of our job is being filled in....
Just my opinion. Not a recruiter.

TUI had 13 pages I think... I'm sure it's to weed out people who aren't genuinely interested in the job. Soon enough we'll be writing short stories and putting down out favorite color, meal and to include a thesis on the political situation in Tibet.
Followed of course by the mandatory 8 day group exercises including holding hands and singing kumbaya, memorizing each others names and playing "which 5 movies" you'd want with you if you got stranded on an island (which you assume then would have A/V equipment on it. Or wait... maybe that's the thing, a TRICK exercise, there IS no tv on the island and you were meant to say no movies, I'd want the QRH and my explosive yogurt instead)
One-page CV, then an interview and possibly simcheck is the way to go. IMHO.
