Fancy being in charge of a company and getting the staff so pi**ed off that they are nearly on strike ? This has been building for a number of years.

Millions of plot changes, swapping from earlies to nights, taxis in the middle of the night across the whole country etc etc etc

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

And how do they reward their staff ?

share options ? ------ no
A months salary------ no

if it's been a 'good' year, a £25 M and S voucher............

It has been a good year this year........ but pay rise, no

The company are now resorting to overriding the crewing computer to issue illegal roster changes. In the case in point a Captain was given a last minute plot change that was 55 minutes into discretion before he even left home!

Things are going from very bad to worse. No wonder Monarch are having to resort to advertising for new F/O’s while all the current ones are sending out C.V.’s by the shed load.

Keep it together guys, with unity you have power! besides TJ will find it a tough sell to the board when there aren't any crew to operate flights
RS might struggle as well I reckon.

OK slightly off topic here.....

Was mentioned yday on the BALPA forum that interviews will begin next month for new F/Os. It also mentioned that the advertising in Flt Intl and early interviews are to get numbers for our 'new base'........

Any idea where this new base is gonna be? EDI?

Easy ryder,

I have been thinking about that one also. Where are we going to open a new base? I would suspect its going to be EDI, but you never know.

Interviews start soon but according to the ad in FI the courses start early next year.

It looks like the ballot papers for a strike (as opposed to the earlier indicative ballot) will be going out soon.

The CC have done an outstanding job on this - sadly it has come to this. Our present management team have insulted us with derisory pay offer and have only "managed" to unite their entire pilot work force against them...

Monarch IS a great airline. WE intend to make sure it stays great.

Monarch T & C's

Hello,

I've noticed recently that they are asking for applications from possible F/O's. I am currently airbus type-rated and been flying for a low cost carrier for over a year. I've read through the monarch terms and conditions thread.....which has gone a long way at putting me off I have to say! Is it/can it REALLY be that bad!

Any advice would be great! I've gone from definitely applying to running away fast! All within the space of an hour!

Thanks in anticipation!

The reason they are advertising for F/O's is because a lot are leaving for Easy, BA, Virgin and Aer Lingus amongst others. The reasons they are leaving are mainly pay, pension, lifestyle issues and roster disruption.
If you work for Easy you would most likely take a significant pay cut by moving to Monarch and your pension won't improve. If you do work for Easy I'll swap you jobs!

Couldn't agree more with Sphinx. Monarch is being brought to its knees by a management hell bent on cutting costs and increasing their own profit related pay... The result? Cabin crew, Engineers and pilots all considering industrial action... The Balpa ballot papers are being printed as I write....

A message to TJ and RS

Yes we know you read PPRuNe.

Thank you for your letter with its inconstancies and veiled threats.

You have misjudged us and handled things badly from the start and this is just the icing on the cake. I look forward to receiving my ballot paper and voting for strike action.

A reply to the MD

Dear TJ, thank you for your work of fiction err letter emailed to me today. Please forgive my belated response, however, my email programme knowingly re-directed it into my anti-spam filter.

Please take this reply on PPrune as my response to your impressive work of fiction.
Tim, I hope you haven't started to believe your own bullsh*t, next you'll be telling us you can turn water into wine

I am 110% behind the CC. BUT whoever put this on the web is a step to far. What is written remains between employer/employee and until it goes to IA should remain so. I would urge whoever posted it...to remove it, until such time that we move a step closer. This has to be a calculated dispute and "direct" antagonistic views will not help the cause.

Mon757chick,

Congratulations on your first post (or first 3 actually). I don't think it's wise reproducing this in full on this thread. There is a private Monarch forum on here or the company council website (it's already on there too). All sorts read these open forums most likely media included. Lets keep the full details inhouse and play fair game.

I can only echo the sentiments expressed, probably not the best idea to post Tim's version of reality on here.
Just a quick question to touchin down, "do you think TJ RS and PB are playing a fair game?"

Not necessarily, but we can rise above that! I'm a new joiner (see post number one of this thread!!) Of course the tone has changed somewhat since then. Kind of just caught up in the middle of all this, and yes I do support the CC. I just don't think it's right for that letter to be reproduced in full on an open forum.
