Eager, he could be. Don't forget their policy now is everyone who gets promoted gets slightly less that the person who went before them in terms of basic, then there's the 10% cut for your first year in the left, the 10% cut for being moved to somewhere totally inconvenient and I'm told half sector pay now as well. I do know of a couple of skippers who in their first year are making just about £4k/month.
If Pilot999 has been here a while and hasn't moved bases then he'll be on an older contract which carries that kind of salary.
Oh, then at the end of your first year you'll get the 10% back and full sector pay but then you're base transfer will come through and that equals another 10% cut!! Brilliant!

Has anyone come across Sangar Solutions in the Isle of Man?
They apparently increase the take-home pay of 'contractors' from typically 64% of gross earnings to around 85% when it is necessary to work under an 'umbrella company' in order to comply with IR35 provisions.

I had the opportunity to join the Airlines a few years ago before the current turndown, but having listened to the views here on PPRUNE and talked with many a pilot over the years, I decided it was probably better to just fly for enjoyment.....and I would say I made a good choice as far as that goes.
£12000 PM, Tax Free. Only PPL and old Pitts, but fly Aeros as and when I wish...and enjoy it.
No free lunch as they say.... Private Security Contractor for last 10 years, currently in Afghanistan. Last one was close, my left ear is still ringing...

$900 a month after getting laid off....
was making $65,000 a year until AB's company took the contract by lowballing us. Guess they can do that when they pay AB $1200 a month....
Hey sandy, need an ammo sherpa?
I've got eyes on the back of my head, and like to lie motionless in mud for hours at a time without making a sound ....
If I get shot I promise not to moan too loudly.
Beats sitting here at home constantly checking an empty inbox reading PPRUNE....

As a coal train driver in NSW, Australia: $4,000 a month, (AUD), take home.
Overtime and away-from-home expenses can increase this by half as much again some months.

No-frills, no wait, some frills, no wait, no frills, no wait, maybe some frills then, hang on, sorry we don't know who we're pitching to: A320 F/O, year 2
Averaging around £2400 a month net, half decent company pension, BUPA, LOL etc...salary is reduced 'but you don't pay for a TR like most other people' - who are they trying to kid?! I lose 500 quid of it straight away on the training loan...
I love my job, and they're not a bad company really, but I wouldn't be happy doing it for much less green stuff...
Anyone know what the recruitment situation with Virgin Galactic is?

Floatboy, I see you have a nice job somewhere desirable. However do you have short term memory problems? You've posted your info here 3 times that I've seen in the last 3 or 4 pages!
