Fortune Pacific

Talking with Graham Apostel at Fortune Pacific about a job in China, possibly Spring Airlines. Any info would be appreciated. Also need info on the Chinese written test as well as physical exam. New to the expat thing and trying to figure it out. Pay and conditions discussed seem good, anyone know latest rates for A320 captains in China? Thanks

Thumbs down Don't Do It

You want to know about "Captain Gram Apostel?" I'll tell you about Mr. Apostel.........he is a fraud........so is his friend and accomplish Mr. Jeffrey Lieu(and I use Mr. with regret). Fortune Pacific is a fraud. You will never see any $$$, you will pay for your own expenses, you will be charged for you hotel around 1 month after you arrive($2,000USD), and if your lucky you will figure all this out before they steal your airline ticket money you spent before they talk Spring Autum or JuneYao and get to it first. Realize in China you cannot leave the hotel until the bill is settled or you can be arrested in immigration at the airport when you leave. Yes, just to leave. Or, if you move the police will find you when you check in and register at another hotel. I know it has happened and you may very well end up in a Chinese jail. Make a call to the US Embassy in Shanghai and ask them what reports have been filed regarding Fortune Pacific (and Top Flight for that matter). Then ask Jeffrey or Gram for names and numbers of pilots who have been there for almost 9 months with fractional pay and no contract........THEY WILL NEVER GIVE THEM TO YOU. Months......and I mean months... will pass before you will see any progress with this one-horse-show. Jeff has no money so he MUST steal yours. He will also ask to borrow money from you when you get comfortable with him. Are the chinese airlines in on the action? Not really, because you will never work for them. Also, in China you will eventually learn it is not immoral to lie to a foriegner, IT'S GOOD BUSINESS!!!??? You must sign a contract with Fortune Pacific, which is, in reality, Jeffrey Lieu. Gram Apostle sits in London waiting for his cut.....not a pilot, just an instructor(Do not believe his flying stories.) I cannot emphasize the cost financially, emotionally, and professionally you will endue while the Chinese get it together and use real agents. Fortune Pacific is an empty company, based in Hong Kong, with no money at all. NONE!!! You would be better off anywhere else in the world, I daresay Africa, before China. Take it from the "ones" who have gone before...........DON'T GO TO CHINA TO FLY.....ESPECIALLY WITH FORTUNE PACIFIC OR TOP FLIGHT!!!!!!! Do you homework and you will know why I would hate to see anyone suffer like some of the people who are there right now, today.

GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND

Fortune Pacific

I decided to write this post to aware you of Fortune Pacific.

I am one of those happy guys who have signed "contract" with Jeffrey and his Fortune Pacific.
Everything what is written above is true!
Few of my colleagues have realized about the problem very quick and have left immediately. I was to much naive and now I have to consider time i spent here in Shanghai as a nice vacation - on my cost in general ...but really nice vacation I have to admit. (I need to find an excuse for myself )

Situation:
Jeffrey has stolen couple of thousands USD out of my salary. He did the same with my friends here. I have never got any reinburesments from him. I have not got ANYTHING from him. Maybe besides nice and neverending promises (a lot of money, Airbus 330 - yes! 330 - my airline had o lot of fun when I told them thay are just about to buy A330 , TRI license, covered accomodation expences etc etc.) He lies all the time (even now). Eventually he run away to HongHong and dissapeared. Ambassy, police, few airlines, few hotels, car rentals, few pilots - we all are looking for this gentelman. It is going to be fun once he comes back. If he...

Spring Airlines - the Airline I fly for - is trying hard to make things straight. However "the system" does not allow them to repair the situation fast enough. Everything takes time here in China. If you are patient enough, it is OK.
Anyway I am sure that Spring Airlines will be a very good place to come soon. Now, mostly because of Jeffrey, they have a mess with our contracts. Thaey are dealing with a few other Agencies in this moment - good, big and well known Agencies. Let us just wait for the results.

Coming back to the topic:
Just avoid Jeffrey and his Fortune Pacific!! I am sure untill any of you decides to apply to Chinese Airline Jeffrey will be in jail already.

Regards and see you at FL370

An official reply from Fortune Pacific

Dear Captain Guca:

This is Jeffrey. There are two sides to every coin. I am here to officially appologized to you for my inability to protect your interest better here in Shanghai. We all have great feelings toward the ex-CEO/Chief and things just changed completely after the management changes within Spring. The airlines here do not allow agency to get involved in their internal flight policies nor dispatch scheduling. Lots of things here are not quite the same as what we are used to in the Western world.

You still have half of a month of salary still pending with Spring. Harald, and Sam still have their unpaid bills by JunYao. They are being sued right now by Fortune Pacific, the drivers, the hotels. Please check your facts straight, it's the other way around. Once the funds are recovered, they will be send to the pilots accordingly.

Unlike what people claimed, I am still here working in China and the hotels, drivers and including Fortune Pacific have filed law suites against Spring and JunYao. Just for your information, I went back to Taiwan for 45 days because my dad is being treated for colon cancer, not running away. It's unfair of what was written on there.

It's not just and not right that you don't mention about how I have to front my own personal funds for pilots' living expenses, transportation costs as they were clearly stated in the contract with the airlines to be pay-for by them. Did you even mentioned when those reimbursements were pay to the pilots from the airlines were never paid-back to me?

To protect the identity of the fellow pilot who wrote me this e-mail, I cut and paste the conversation but remove the name on there. I never abandon my pilot friends out here.

With the warmest regards,
Jeffrey

Hello jeffrey,

I have been meaning to write but seems I am getting backlogged in that regard. I wanted to wish you all the ebst in your life .. i really do. with a family I hope you find your place in the world.

wish things could have been different. but then . wishing and coulda, shoulda, woulda are the worst things one can do I guess. things just are the way that they turn out to be. we each take the path we chose and have to live with those decisions I guess.

i do have to say that from what i see, and remember . things did start out with such high expectations and as far as the way you did treat us starting .. helping us along the way, I have to tell you that i do not see that in other agents and for that we do thank you. if only ....

ah but there I go again ..

sad the way things turned out when it started with such high hopes and dreams

but now you have a child to look after and i do so hope that everything works out for you.

J

Hello J:

I appreciate you writing me. Your friendship has always being greatly appreciated and treasured by me.

We had a very honorable goal of creating a fraternity of brothers in flight in this strange country and make a mark for ourselves in a thriving new frontier. This is just as American as Apple Pie.

Things get twisted, things get miss interpreted and things simply get out of the hand. I would have never known that Mr. Li Der Shan and Maggie's signatures worth nothing and never realize that Spring will be late on every payment for more than 10 days. I have no idea that JunYao would just go after our pilots and not pay one dime of pilot's fees and management fees. Coupled with the good intention to cover the unreported bills by Maggie's deparment for 1) still over 40,000 RMB of driver's bill (which was told to spread in new receipts with larger per trip pricing to cover the total unpaid bill), 2) pilot's house deposit gauranteeds which never materialized, 3) Celebrity hotel's bills as Spring managed to change the agree upon daily rate to about 1/2 of the agreed contract price. All these ended up on my company's bills.

No other agencies or firms will do this to protect and save faith for the airlines manager's miss management. No one will advance or gauranteed anything for the pilots until they passed everything and qualify to fly and well stipulated ahead of time.

Anyway, I have decided to stand back up again. I will continue to help place pilots, but now strictly as HR consultants for the pilots and I get paid up front for helping them. No more management fees, just one time consulting fee along the way and also a sucess fee once the license is obtained. Other needs will be charged per billing. I have been asked by quite a few more pilots and two other new airlines to help place them - and that I think is a good thing to do.

How about you? What are you doing nowaday? How's family?

Hope all goes well. Will you be interested in preping new pilots coming over to China with test prep and procedures for a fee? I guess this is still my area of expertise and it will just work well with the Eclipse Air Taxi project.

Please stay in contact and remember our friendship. No matter what other people may say or done, I still think that you are one of the most honorable gentleman I know and you exemplified what a US Naval officer's excellence in personal conducts.

with the warmest regards,

Jeffrey

Graham

Dear Sirs,

It was most sad for me and my family to read some individuals reports.
To those real aviation capts, who contacted me and gave me your
support, and honour of calling me a capt of Captains.(thankyou)
I did not get any or recieve one cent of your wages.
Sirs, I also hold am honoured to Hold an Full United States of America
airline pilots licence.
I am not full of BS.
With much regret, you only have to have one bad apple,in the pie,to spoil
the rest.
Maybe I should have flown out and my own expense,to sort out this
mess.
But Sirs,to be honest,I did my best, but,we was dishonured.by one bad,
appple, who was treated in Hospital for ?????
Could you image what would have happened if he was in command of
OF a brand new aircraft, with passengers approached the World Games.
Sirs,If i am guilty,then sorry,but,but out of pocket,I had to keep my,
mouth shut, and I do not mention names on this sight.
I wish you all the best,I mean you no harm. Graham
