BAs new recruitment drive was only announced recently, if it has been discontinued so soon after announcing a 'holding pool' for up to 800 pilots, then I think it was hardly worth the effort. More likely, the same application system has been used for both, we will see.

Bob.

You are mistaken I'm afraid. BA opened up it's recruitment for guys with 1000+ hours about a month ago.

The closing date was 12th August.

The application form for ex-military guys is still open.

On-mark Bob, sorry to say but you can fly a plane but obviously not read what they BA want in the managed path job requirements, only takes a few minutes!!

maybe it’s time to put WWII and the bravery of “THE FEW” behind us and accept the fact that the RAF is now not the only place you can train to be a pilot!!
Bob you mean you haven't got any hours on Spitfires? No chance of getting into BA old bean!

Well done Bob. The latest civvy recruitment opening has been going for the last 5 weeks or so. So much for 'anri-civvy discrimination', eh! Seems you missed the boat. It looks like you started the military-specific application process and got kicked out when you stated that you had no military experience. Surprise, surprise. A great many people would take offence at some of your spiteful comments directed toward military pilots. WW2 may be over but many still have Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, N Ireland, Falklands, Former Yugoslavia etc etc in their logbooks - a level of piloting expertise that I suspect you won't be able to rival.

Look in the mirror before criticising others

Enough anti bob sentiment. Read his post again it contains some valid points about our industry. Note he just tried the DE path at 2000h on 15 august. The managed path at that hour was the ONLY option on the website when bob applied.

Good luck to all applying.

At least 2 months for sim slots.

Don't forget you can reapply after 6 months if it is PFO for application, 12 months after.

Although judging by v2's post below I may well be wrong.

My understanding is that you can reapply after 12 months. If you attended an interview or simulator then that 12 months runs from your interview date.
