Snoop Options!!

Well i have come to the conclusion that we have the following options!!

1. Hire a coach and lay seige to European Aviation House for our outstanding money!!

2. Set up our own little operation and call it Mushroom Airways!! (as we are so use to being kept in the dark and having Sh*t thrown at us)

3. Apply for jobs at that renamed company EAAC II or is it EAF or maybe EAC........

Just wanted to say a goodbye to everyone that knew me at EAC, I was certainly one of the lucky ones having only just left at my own accord and as if missing all you guys wasn't enough, hearing the bad news was shocking! Good luck with the job hunting and all the best for the future!! Hopefully our paths will cross again in happier times, stay in touch and drop me a line if ever you're in BFS!!!

Good luck again!!

Just a thought - which you do when your out of work! Aren't the directors of a company personally liable for its debts? Now theres a thought.

Hey trollydolly, hows j2? Nice timing!
Witchway, there's news some contracts may continue in summer but we've all just been made redundant, so think the plan is pay as you go work for those few who are invited back???? Who knows - safer to get your CV out I'd say.

OneOne TwoEight

Yeh your right. Painful being shafted twice.

trolleydolly

Best of luck to you, your going to a professional outfit.

oneone twoeight Just another thought (I'll be getting a headache if I keep this up). Surely the only people who will touch eac now is Palmair and thats only because they have to. Hear that this business is going to Jet 2 shortly. Anyone got any thoughts on this? Makes a lot of sense as their aircraft are newer and more presentable than eac's

Claim form

For those of you who do not know who the liquidator is, you need to phone European to get the details.

I have also phoned the insolvency people who advised sending the form direct to the liquidators NOT to European.

Get me another beer

The redundancy letter from the company does not appear to be correct. As I understand it the Co. is not yet in administration/liquidation but continuing to trade with agreement from those it owes money to.
This being the case it is not (yet) the government and National Insurance funds responsibility to pay us owed wages etc. Though the Co. is quick to push this!
The RP1 form at the moment, is only of any use to claim redundancy payments (assuming you've worked continuously at EAAC for 2 years plus).
It appears they can't even make us redundant properly!!

I've been here before, sorry to be so pessimistic but write off lost wages /allowances then should you get anything back from the gov. later on that's just a bonus.

Best of luck to all and for all I've flown with this last couple of years thanks for some great times..

Directors of a 'Limited' company have limited liability this is the whole modus operandii behind most particular corporate vehicles unfortunately...however there is recourse if it can be proven they acted negligently, not in the interests of shareholders (more or so in the case of a PLC) and/or illegally...Liquidators can pursue Directors through the civil courts but it is a long and slow process as is any action by DTI against a Director where they may eventually be disqualified...dont hold out for this one...

Flight operations are currently confined to Bournemouth only as European has no handling agent at LGW/STN after Aviance declined to offer further handling. However, the ops at BOH are continuing.

Is there any reason why an Astraeus 737 went from LGW to BOH yesterday and was back again around two/three hours later, apparently with a couple of Astraeus' senior people on board? It does seem like a very expensive private jet.

Richard and Judy

whilst sat here ruminating - a lady just won £ 7000 on 'you say we pay' on Richard & Judy show(I know but what else has an unemployed person gotta do)- so that will be worth a phonecall on monday - who knows 'you gotta be in it to win it'.

Flightrider,

I believe Astraeus were asked to provide a back up aircraft for the Bath Travel flight to Lanzarote in case European were not able to operate on the day.

Some senior Astraeus people were on board to ensure it went well if it was required.

Not sure who paid for it though.

Thats what I was told by BOH airport.

Now ex-European

Hi to you all !

It is awful the company has gone down like it has, like so many others, I so enjoyed the long haul flying. I will apply to other airlines and go from there.

I have read on here, that Air Atanta, might be looking to recruit ex-European Crew. The last couple of days, I have been trying in vain, to try and get hold of their UK telephone number - but without success. I then read, that they were holding an open day at LGW Hilton, this weekend and next, however, I emailed there office in Iceland, they replied, saying, it is only for flight deck. Since getting this, I have since heard they might need more Cabin Crew. So if anyone has the UK phone number, or a contact, could you please pass it on to me. Other than that, I could complete the on-line application form - anyone else done this ?
Please let us know, if you can offer advice on this matter.

Also, does anyone know who EUK is, perhaps this also Air Atlanta, there again contact details would be useful.

Have also seen a company called AFX. Ideally, I would like to be on the 747 if possible.

Have got the letter - not even a thankyou, or sorry stated.

Keep in touch, to all my friends at European that I made - you never know, we might all be back together, that what happened when Brit World went under.

Alan.

Web site

I could set up a basic web site for everyone to keep updated, it's fairly easy and let's face it I have little else to do at the moment as I am not needed for standby, although knowing crewings grasp of reality sometimes, the phone could ring at anytime.

zurg,
I've yet to find a company who can get making people redundant correct. You are not alone in your frustrations. Been there before.
Good luck....find out your rights and stand up for them.
A few years ago, it took a few colleagues and myself, nine months to fight, but we got what we were entitled to in the end, including pension rights, which they tried to shaft us on. The company we worked for "downsized" and ceased to operate our part of the operation on 18 hours notice.
Good luck.
