Most of the last page was VMC related, in fact ....
while minimum zero FUEL weight is a kind of strange concept for a glider, minimum flight weight or minimum operating weight might apply. Excuse my ignorance, but is the ballast fixed or jettisonable? I assume the latter, in which case I'd have thought that any equivalent to min ZFW would apply to the de-ballasted case, not the case with ballast.

My dear Mad ( Flt ) man, how is it possible to have a lower value than zero ? The minimum is zero fuel weight surely ? Maybe shouldn`t be here but l play the ball for a living and feel l have a right to say this.

Hello non iron. I don't understand your question. zero fuel weight cannot be zero. it is the weight of the aircraft with zero fuel in the tanks. if this can be a minimum by regulations is one of the thread discussion points, as well as minimum flight weight. since I know little of these concepts, I'm just reading and trying to learn, leaving the posts to those with some experience. .. Aaaaah them were the days, when men flew 'aeroplanes' ...
.. fond memories of DC3s and Fokker Dogwhistles .. could never stop the operative leg from shaking like crazy after a while. My own view of the non-measured load was that it was closer to around 700lb ....
MFS .. mate ... you've too much spare time on your hands ...

Aaaah so;
and
are, in your case, not mutually exclusive.
Methinks maybe our favourite libation by the Messrs Penfolds contains more sugar than advertised or is it Le Grande Bouffe prior?

BTW try standing on one leg with the knee slightly bent for more than a minute.

.. as the lovely Sal opined last evening whilst contemplating my girth over an Amarula (fond memories of biltong, boerwurst by the yard, the noble braii, boy, washed down with a delicate Amarula .. that wonderful SA contract expanded my horizons as well as my waist) .. "you need to lose a pound or ten, young lad", said she.
.. did I tell you that I lost some weight recently ? .. added to all the other weight I have lost over the years ... the spirit is willing but the flesh, thankfully, is weak ..
.. ah .. fond memories of Chateau Cardboard de Bankstown ... we really must do that again .. perhaps another local Bash is called for ?
