Tomorrow 7-7 the RAF will be celebrating 50 years of the Puma helicopter! As part of this there is apparently,(weather permitting) a formation of 10-12 Pumas(allegedly), routing out of Benson and passing over many RAF bases and installations etc etc! Timings are shown for each of the 3 formation segments on current Notams.. The formation is due to fly over Northolt at 0935 and route up to Scampton in sector1….From Scampton they route down to Middle Wallop for sector2….From Wallop they are routing over Odiham/Farnborough back to Benson.

Hopefully the weather will play ball !!

Add +1 hr for local times!

Looks like they'll be heading from Benson east-ish towards Aylesbury/Tring - so no formation over my garden 5 miles west of Benson! Shame.....

Will they be staying over the north of London when they transit through Northolt this morning, or will they visit other cardinal points ?

Apologies for the poor photo - wife took it on her mobile. She said they made quite a racket when they passed overhead. Looks like 9 helicopters from the blurred mess - we live near the BPK VOR.

At least she saw them, which was probably more than many!

What does a TC-135 do in comparison to an RC-135 ? I've not knowingly seen one before.
