It was returning to the USA from the detachment at Souda Bay, Greece [where it had been based for a few years] Now replaced by another EP-3E

It's an offshoot of the original Portuguese Hi Fly, with a bunch of second-hand A340s and a few other assorted Airbuses.

Today's flight is probably bound for Delhi.

Hi Fly seem to be based at a Portuguese Air Force base rather than at Lisbon, Oporto or Faro airports. Perhaps they have Mil/Govt connections and it's a better fit for their operations. I do like seeing the A340's still flying around.

Not forgetting their brief dalliance with ex-SQ A380 msn 006 (9H-MIP)...

If that's a reference to the former Portuguese AF base at Beja, while Hi Fly use it for parking stored aircraft, their main operating base (notwithstanding what Wikipedia might say) is Lisbon/Portela (LPPT).

Regarding HiFly's having aircraft at Beja, simple matter of parking space scarce at Lisbon and also the cost, much much cheaper at Beja even taking fuel and crew travel costs into consideration. Was at Beja a couple of years back with another operator and the base still being used for fast jet training as well as P-3's based there.

In fact it's the one and only WC-135W.

Display at Old Buckenham. Tiger Moth G-ACDA routed over Purley earlier - just missed her as she was on the other side of the house, looked like she'd been up there too.

Spitfire G-ASJV displaying there now.
