Shuttling in the Budweiser...

Algerian Herc is just passing Macon, I see Heathrow is on easterlies still - will try and get a pic when he zots over here. Early morning clag appears to be lifting earlier today!

Edit: he took the scenic route, passed to the north of me (snapped off a shot on max digi zoom), over the eastern end of Heathrow and then joined the northern downwind for 09L.

Thanks for that pointer, looks like the only way I'll see the damned thing. At least the wind direction is bringing in the lovely warmer weather which makes up for noseeum Hercules.

Not as great as I'd hoped for that channel, but that was perhaps because of his camera position and the short take-off abilities of the Hercules. He mentioned that it was coming back today (Tuesday), but who knows!

I think tomorrow was yesterday if you see what I mean. BJ TV's vid was shot on Sunday. Nice prop tip vortices in the video clip.

Story of my life.... ;-)

No doubt you're correct, could've sworn I heard him say Tuesday. Probably wishful thinking!

Japanese military B777 landed at Newquay around 09.00 this morning and just departed. Obviously advance party for G7 meeting. Many more to come over the next few days.

I see said 777 is about to zot past - I shall hie me into the garden shortly. I remember seeing both 747s from my office once, heading into Heathrow.

Blimey! Saw the aircraft more clearly than the trail when he was roughly over Enfield - my view to the NW is obscured by sycamores which need lopping...

A Canadian Navy CH-148 (Sikorsky S-92) was visible on ADSB Exchange a short while ago, plotting 100' mid-Channel near Dover. Thought it seemed unlikely, but Frigate HMCS Halifax has just cleared the Straits of Dover with a Danish Frigate in hot pursuit.

Apparently the shipborne CH-148 Cyclones are actually operated by the RCAF. Should make for interesting times in the wardroom.

I wonder what the legalities and protocols are involved when, a shipborne helicopter and a military one at that, is flying close to sovereign nations and other large ships. Was it ok because it was flying down the centre of the channel and therefore not in anyone's sovereign territory ?

Wow! Just heard a deepening drone while sitting in a Croydon park. Lovely Tyne-powered German Transall! Fantastic sound, so much nicer than the A400. Beautifully visible against the cirrus.

Looks like the Sparrows coming back to the UK from training down in the Med. Certainly one aircraft just crossing into Kent.

Belgian AF A400 came over London earlier and went into Newquay. Heading back up across Sussex now.

Indian AF C-17 about to cross the Channel towards Lydd.

Going up to my sister's place near Diss in a month's time - hope to see the odd Osprey; apart from an early prototype, never seen one close up, just a pair negotiating the Thames heli-lane - identifiable but not much bigger than dots as seen from Croydon.

3 x USMC C-130J and 4 x MV-22 Osprey of HMX-1 landing at Exeter Airport at around 6pm this evening.
Don't see many of those around Devon!
