French Aztec apparently equipped with LIDAR busy between Chatham and Canterbury this morning. German Cessna 340 also doing survey work a few days ago.

The two seater Hurricane now based at Biggin has apparently started doing rides fairly recently - haven't seen it pop up on ADSB or in the flesh yet...

Talking of Hurricanes (and Spitfires), today at 12noon a 4-ship flypast of Westminster Abbey to honour those real heroes of WW2, went by my surprised and very happy head. Lovely sound I must say!

It appeared very briefly on Mode S on the afternoon of 10th August, then on a few occasions in the last week. No ADS-B.

Apparently a US-registered 727 flew over the Cotswolds earlier today heading towards Scotland. Can't be many left flying.

Went ito Prestwick then off over the Pond. I think there are a couple at Doncaster for Oil spill spraying work, not aware of any others in the UK.
Cheers

I had the pleasure of watching the 727 flying in formation with some aerobatic team in 2018, lovely to see again after many years of little or no 727's out and about.

This was N806MA which is a new TBM700 on delivery to the USA and not a 727. The FR24 database can be a little out of date sometimes!

I did wonder about that - there are very few airworthy 727s left on the US register. 280 kts ground speed should have been a bit of a giveaway.

FR24 is more than a little out-of-date - that 727 was cancelled from the US register in 2002 !

TBM-940s on delivery, like yesterday's, seem to be becoming increasingly common.

Saw a US registered Starship on FR24 five or six years ago, to the NW of London heading NE. Always wondered if it really was, but there are several which survived the Beech cull.

The problem is caused by FR24 being linked to the Jetphotos website for their 'latest' photo of the aircraft that you've just clicked on. It works well for UK registered aircraft where registrations are not normally re-used, but it's not much good for US registered aircraft - especially biz jets, twins and light aircraft.

Sure enough, right on cue, another one being delivered this morning on a similar track, the appropriately-registered N940EM.

There's 18 USAF F-16s currently deployed to Lakenheath from Aviano AFB in Italy, they should be going home on Friday 25/09.
