I'm sorry- I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to the Air Algerie ATR72.

Bugger, I'd have seen that if I'd noticed it on ADSB!

An-124 descending westbound right over Central London, 18,000 ft and quite audible from the ground, notably slow. Seems headed for Brize Norton. Noticeable how much military traffic of all types is now routing directly over London, with reduced airline movements.

Saw the 124 as I was walking back across the common, same time as the last Spitfire sortie of the day was audibly returning to Biggin! Lovely sunset...

See there is an RAF Atlas doing a low level - 475' - search pattern between Dover and Ramsgate - looking for dodgy boaters?

Blimey, the Belgians are still using Allouette IIIs - can see one along the French border.

A400M Now that's a interesting aircraft to use for maritime surveillance, clearly the drones they have been using are not as good as the Mk1 Eyeball . Explains all the practicing in the Bristol Chanel and elsewhere in the last week or two.

The Navy has 3, seen occasionally on this side of the Channel. They were supposedly being retired when the NH90s arrived a few years ago, but are now reportedly going to soldier (or sailor) on until next year.

I remember seeing them at the IAT at Greenham Common in the '70s - and the Dutch Alouette III team "The Grasshoppers"...

The Atlas has made the media I see...

373mph that's got to be down hill with a following wind

At least at that altitude he's unlikely to hit any wires

A good illustration of the perils of dodgy crowdsourced multilateration.

The Atlas has departed and there is now a Shadow R1 circling above Lydd at 16,000 ft.

Just checked the plot and he's going home for tea as well
