A TB-30 Epsilon, at about 150 metres, pulling a hard, banking turn to port - right above me whilst I was mowing the lawns!

Something happening at Orleans, various French heavies have been orbiting and made a low pass at the air base. KC-135s, A400s, A330, CN235, Falcons, E-3A, C-130, Atlantique... CL215 just popped up...

The RAF Typhoon mentioned above is also nearby at 8000'... climbing on a northerly heading, the RAF Voyager is still lurking mid Channel.

Brazilian Hunter PP-XHH in the Southampton area - is this ex-Embraer one that was (I think) referred to earlier in this thread? It's out of Scampton and had a little tootle round Norfolk and another round eastern Hampshire/West Sussex via Boscombe. Currently closing in on Shaftsbury.

Edit: it is the same one - XE688, landed at Yeovilton.

I think at least a couple more BA Minibuses have returned to Heathrow from Bournemouth today.

Anyone know what the A380 symbol is that's constantly visible in the T2 area of Heathrow? Shows up on Plane Finder but not FR24 or ADSB Exchange - been there for some days...

I think the A380 symbol on Plane Finder may be a vehicle.

We got a nice view (x3) of this as it passed our (home) office window in Solihull at about 3000ft.

It does make me wonder what is going on onboard these flights, i.e. what specific training? Practicing ILS approaches? Practicing CATIII landings in simulated bad weather/darkness? Practice for the ATC? Taking advantage of the empty runways (definitely)? All of the above? Also how much of the flights e.g. the multiple tough and gos are planned in advance, vs being made up on the fly to test the pilots?

I dont suppose we'll get one, being military and all, but an onboard video would be fab!

A KC-135 of 1963 vintage just gone over noisily over central London. They do pass this way regularly, but this one for reasons unknown was louder than usual, almost 70% of an old VC-10 departure. Perhaps it's one of those that haven't been re-engined ?

Followed by a C-32 99-6143 which seems to be something of a mystery airframe!

Also a Lithuanian C-27J 02/Blue passing Lydd - funnily enough its pic on Plane Finder is of a fishing smack! Biggin inbound?

Came up on Mode S as a regular KC-135R with CFM56s. Some of them can still be quite noisy.

I'm tempted to say "can you see what it is yet?" but Rolf is rather persona non grata these days...

Sentinel ZJ691 - it traced the octagon round East Anglia three times (apart from the blip towards Brum) - probably could have seen it as turned east over my head each time, now retracing the northern sector of its task and will presumably be back at Waddington in time for tea and scones...
