Interesting aircraft - what have you seen on your computer today?
Sadly the flypast was radically slimmed down for reasons of safety and weather, made more painful for my humble self having found a lovely uncrowded spot to view. The choppers veered off directly after BP, but the Red Arrows obliged by keeping a mostly straight path, hurrah!
Quite a bit of VIP/Govt traffic leaving STN in the late afternoon, headed back home, including a Kuwait A340 and a Bahraini RJ85.

The red arrows briefly cleared Windsor in cloud, no smoke. Brazilian A321 routing from STN to Lisbon now. Any sight of a corporate on route to LAX with a Prince on board?

Distant faint drone is apparently a US registered Duke at 19000'. Not seen one of those in a long while, couldn't see this one either!
Looking back over the last few years, the Antonovs that transit/fly to the UK always seem to come in waves, most likely a short-term contract to 'move things' that normal freighters can't/won't. I do enjoy hearing them, but just as I get used to the sounds on a regular basis, they disappear again for months......

Gatters getting a bit of pasting from lightning at the moment, plenty of similar in the Basingstoke/Farnborough area, assume Heathrow (and me!) might see some of that in a while. Gatwick movements on hold I think...
Take off still happening but the holds are busy. First rumbles over Purley.

Interesting to see Gatwick changed ends to 08 for a while during the storm. Another pair of CBs harassing Horsham have joined forces and indeed linked up with more to the west and are now heading resolutely ENE so I should enjoy a bit more weather shortly.
During the lull I noticed the Spitfire T.8 G-AIDN get airborne for what looked like an air test...

Interesting little zigzag by C-5M Reach 411 a few minutes ago, almost direct from north of Lands End to Clacton with a nice little right on to ESE over Watford and back to direct Clacton overhead Walthamstow. Didn't appear to be any weather or traffic!
Does anyone know what the story is regarding a Candian registered Dash 8 that landed in Lydd yesterday, but with a Union Jack on the tail and 'Home Office' emblazoned on the sides ?
