Grrr

No parking bay, well it is the 'public' side of the barrier and I have stopped there many a time.

I would suggest that this road is public up to the barrier. I was politely asked to move my car, this is the first time ever that this had occurred and of course I did without hesitation.

Toodle my old chum, get a life! My video of the C-GOAF was done with a Police car sat behind me in 'the No Parking bay'. A brief explanation of who I was, what I was doing and why completely satisfied the two coppers on duty. I moved my car down the hill and everyone was totally happy.

I doubt very much if hoards of spotters will descend upon the no parking bay and if they do I am sure most will be completely sensible, unless Toodle you think that most aviation enthusiasts are ******'s?

Here is a bit of advice, if the rotating high resolution beacon is rotating over at ATC, this means that there is a movement imminent, so driving up this lane should be discouraged. You can easily see this beacon from the gliding club.

If you also read my advice about the Royal Oak, you would then understand that I am only advocating viewing aircraft at Lasham sensibly!

Anyway, what do I know about the safe operation of airports and the benefits of allowing the public some access to view aviation? (if you only knew)!

In my view, Lasham Gliding Club have just about got the balance 100% correct (as owners of this airfield).

Toodle, enjoy the traffic jams and be kind to the majority of idiot aviation enthusiasts popping into Lasham to witness the demise of yet another giant in UK aviation, but DON'T PARK IN THE 'NO PARKING' BAY! I will up there flogging sarnies and squash!

Having taken the time to read through the whole post it seems Buster, who suggested parking in a "no parking bay" at Lasham is a friend of Gulf4uk!!

Just shows what you can do one of my friends given the heads up
at Lasham took this YouTube - C-GOAF Boeing 737 @ Lasham
Perhaps Gulf4uk the next time you meet Buster (your friend) you could educate him in the etiquette of spotting within the law!

P.S. Would love to be a fly on the wall when Gulf is trying to explain to Buster why he called him an idiot

Well Buster I seem to have hit on a raw nerve here!! so many things to reply to in your last post but I will limit myself to just the three...

Toodle my old chum, get a life! My video of the C-GOAF was done with a Police car sat behind me in 'the No Parking bay'. A brief explanation of who I was, what I was doing and why completely satisfied the two coppers on duty. I moved my car down the hill and everyone was totally happy.
why do you think you had to move before everybody was totally happy? would it be something to do with the fact that you were parked in a "no parking" bay per chance!

Here is a bit of advice, if the rotating high resolution beacon is rotating over at ATC, this means that there is a movement imminent, so driving up this lane should be discouraged. You can easily see this beacon from the gliding club.
perhaps you should be taking your own advice then!

Anyway, what do I know about the safe operation of airports and the benefits of allowing the public some access to view aviation? (if you only knew)!
Dunno, please enlighten us, the one thing we can take from your diatribe is that you have no understanding of rules on the public highway or the law!

no fly on wall

hi

What in said is my opinion what others do is there problem But they should
remember it could cause problems for others.
What does annoy me is the Sarcastic comments on these forums .

We have had problems at Lasham . FARNBOROUGH and other places people parking in wrong places blocking Fire gates LITTER Damage to fences etc
We can remind people not to do it but its down to them in the end yes
these people should no better it amazes me that people still do it . I get
enough problems parking everyday even when my vehicle has the correct
Disabled badge on it I rarely can get a bay I Can park LEGALLY in no parking areas but I dont do it EVER . But when anyone complains you get Abuse and
Sarcastic comments. All I say is please dont make Waves for others

Well said Tony, I agree whole hartedly with what you say... and yes Busters last post was somewhat sacrastic! still never mind thats just Buster I suppose! what he doesn't seem to understand, perhaps he's just naive or perhaps its just stupidity, is that by saying that its ok to park in bay marked "No Parking" to a Forum with over 257,000 members is just asking for trouble. Perhaps when the barrier is moved down to the bottom of this lane will be the day that he will rue ever advising it!!

Question for Lasham locals. Looking at Lasham airfield on Google maps there appears to be hangers towards the SW corner. Presumably these are the maintenance facility. In front of one is a 4 engined jet aircraft, which would appear to be too large to fit past buildings by the tarmac.

Has it been there a long time or does it fit?
