Thought the flights might be related - though I noticed the GCO flight was flying to San Juan (I think).

Still interested to know what the cargo is.

Dangerous goods don't take too many forms in general.

Cheers

Was flying from AMS to YYZ.

Word is that it diverted to MAN to have it's toilets systems emptied and then topped up with water as it wasn't done at AMS and they only realised after take off. Hence it only being on the ground for 40 minutes.

Herc at MAN today

Maybe it was just me being dozey, but I saw a dark grey Herc touch down at MAN just after 1pm today but could see no record of a flight plan to MAN, or to any of the usual airports from which they sometime divert (BRZ, LBA, LPL etc).

It was followed by an RAF L1011 about 15 minutes later, but it was showing that he had come in from Canada.

Wasn't sure if they were related or not, and was the reason for the visits was.

Thanks.

Qantas at MAN?

Just seen a QF 744 land at MAN.

Presume it's been chartered to bring Chelsea fans to the big match?

And if that's the case, being a VH reg, would it have to have been chartered through a BA sub or had to get traffic rights to operate internally in the UK.

It's QFA 29, a Heathrow diversion and is doing a fuel stop.

Thanks - presuming something was happening on the ground at LHR that meant it would take longer than 35 minutes to put down.

Sure was busing at MAN yesterday with exec aircraft.

Just a shame that the private 767 didn't make an appearance.

Only OO- registered a/c into MAN yesterday was a Lear 45, and only helis were G-, EI- or N- registered which came in for the match I think.

Can only assume it didn't come into MAN and was just overflying - unless it went into Barton?

Pretty rare - Barton normally doesn't accept helis after dark as I understand it.

That heli is used as a North Sea emergency rescue machine, as well as a rig staff transporter, so it may have been on offical business.

I saw a Malaysia Airlines 777 came into MAN a little before 3pm this afternoon.

Couldn't see a flight plan into MAN, so assume it's a fuel/weather diversion from LHR???
