Barton handle a lot of late helicopter movements during the winter, mainly during football matches.
Last night there was a bright purple sea king in and obviously the police heli is busy all night long

Well obviously there is the Police Chopper, but I thought commercial flights struggled to get permission to get in there - certainly I was told that by an operator recently.

Obviously there is no ILS to aid landings either.

Thanks - I did see a PIA flight number arriving at that time, but couldn't see that it was a 9M- reg.

I presume this increases their capacity a bit on their usual routes as I know the A310 has been flying into MAN a bit.
It would be nice to get the 747s fit to fly again soon.

I believe that there was a DOD Atlas Air 74F at MAN today with a RCH flight number, but it wasn't listed as flying into MAN today.

It was due out to a Turkish Air Base around lunchtime.

When did it arrive at MAN, and was it supposed to fly into MAN?

Or was it a PIK diversion from yesterday, or similar???

Atlas Air Boeing 747-200 N528MC chose Manchester over gusty conditions at Glasgow Prestwick during the early hours, diverting in as "Giant8224" to spent the day parked on the west apron.

Was that a Hercules landing at MAN at about 13:40 last Wednesday (20.12.2006)?

There was a Saudi Herc diverted in from LBA, as well as multiple RAF Herc diverts from Lyneham in the last few days.

XV290 looks like the one. It's a pity I missed the VC10.

Thanks both.

I noticed the Atlas 74F was in from Gander and out to AMS.

Did it bring cargo in?

And if so, what?
