Used to see lots of "personalised" registrations on the radar at LATCC.

When BA introduced the shuttle we used to display them as BASH+flt letters which cause much mirth with Echo Mike and Echo Romeo.

I always looked out for them when showing visitors around. One I always pointed out was MARTINI until one day I found myself working MARTIN2 and realised they were Martin Baker callsigns rather the steed of an Italian Drinks company

As a couple of others have mentioned:
G-DCIO BCal Dc10 inherited by BA after the BCal merger. G-HUGE BCal B747-200 Combi disposed of by BA fairly soon after the merger.

BCal also had a B707-320C in pure freight config registered G- BCAL. I often wonder what BA would have done had that registration been used on a DC10 considering that they kept the DC10 fleet until the late '90s but extinguished all references to BCal as soon as they could.

There were also a couple of ex-Laker Airways DC10-10s that were leased by BCal for the new subsidiary BCal Charter after the demise of Sir Freddies 'Skytrain operation - original registrations were: G-GFAL & G-GSKY (F A Laker & SKYtrain respectively)

Must be some more....

Distillers had a whirly at Denham G-WWWW, and of course there was the C170 way back also at Denham G-ABLE, a very out of sequence reg, that apparently belonged to an ardent fan of his.

I was thinking of the many reggies that have been the initials of the owners, far too many over the years to list, but an early industry one was the poor old Accountant G-ATEL (Aviation Traders Engineering Ltd) at Farnborough in '57. I think the next fudged reg to turn up at Farnborough was in 1972 with G-BSST, the Concorde, followed by G-VTOL 2 years later, on the Harrier 52, now I believe at Brooklands.

etc etc

G-SPOT has been de-registered after the aircraft (PARTENAVIA P68B OBSERVER) was written off in a crash.

The cheesiest reg I have seen was on a Socata TB20 That flew two Britannia engineers in to Cardiff after G-BYIG went tits up. The TB20 was painted in that awfull powder blue and in line with TUI's colours sported the reg G-OTUI.

Also Air Wales's ATR42's

G-KNNY - Kenny
G-TAWE- Tawe is the second part of the welsh spelling for Swansea (Abertawe)
G-WLSH - Welsh
G-SSEA - Swansea

Alitalia had an Airbus I-BUST (presumably referring to their financial predicament).

Not quite big iron, but I know of a new R44 registered G-WAFU. Owned by a company with 2 ex-RN beefers running it.
