Vueling 2019

Ojo, incluso yo he respondido en inglés.

Hi all.
I have just seen this at Pilot Jobs Network - Recruitment news for airline pilots and aviation schools (link to update): Vueling pilot jobs news for airline pilots and aviation schools
Current Situation: Upgrades courses CANCELED. Entry FO OCC cancelled also... No hiring plan for the next 3 years
Update from yesterday, 1/Nov/19
Best of luck to those waiting for news

PJN isn't a source, but if that source is good then I'd expect much worse than just no hiring for next 3 years.
Like I said it was the worst company presentation I've ever seen and I got a horrible impression. It was bad but not "no hiring for 3 years" bad.

Buenas,

- Cualificación mínima: ATPL(A) frozen EASA parte FCL y MCC.

3 years is quite a lot of time in dynamic aviation world. But if that is true, why they didn't take down job posting from their careers website and why are they still inviting people to interviews and sim assessments?
Speaking of which ... can anybody share what was the interview like? And regarding simulator: do they provide some kind of guide before sim session? What to expect, maybe pitch / power settings, charts, procedures etc?

OCCs have been postponed, that's all. It might be related to the new addition to the IAG family, or not. No panic. Time will tell.
I find it quite incredible that some candidates are turning up moaning about Vueling and their briefings, pretty much stating that it is the worst airline to work for, but they are still here waiting for a response. If you hate Vueling before even being there, just do not continue with the process, call them and say, "hey! I do not want to work for you". Why don't you do that? I wonder...
The truth is, some OCCs are already full (although dates changed) and candidates are getting the heads up as we speak. Selection process still running. I fear some of the moaners here prefer or will prefer to blame Vueling and make it look a **** airline before admitting that they just did not get through.
The airline went through its best summer with a new collective labour agreement coming in. They need "cool" people, not moaners.

Dear Vikdream,
I totally agree with you. That´s the same point of view I stated on last Sep 22nd. See link below.
Vueling 2019

Just because someone applies to a company they don't automatically become fanboys and lose their right to complain, especially on Pprune of all places on the internet.
If they pool together +50 pilots that meet all the prerequisites, took time off and traveled at their own expense to the assessment the least I'd expect is a little bit of information.
Why not give information regarding offers, course dates, scheduling, benefits, intake numbers? You seem to forget that assessment or interview is as much an opportunity for the candidate to sell themselves as it is for the company to do the same.
As for complaining about not typing in Spanish, the name of this thread is Vueling 2019 a company which does Not require Spanish. At no point in the assessment did they present bilingual slides let alone even speak in Spanish.
Perhaps this would be better suited in interviews board because Vueling, once again, is not a Spanish speaking company anymore.

hawker400, I confirm, there is no need to speak spanish at Vueling, but we all know that by now, except mach1......
Anyway, Vueling is a nice company to work for with great benefits. If you have any questions please ask here and we will tell you. In any case if they call you for an interview you will be able to ask them what you want to know, it is fairly relaxed. Good luck and see you soon!

Air Dolomiti Ab Initio Cadet: DLR

Good news came in and I passed the selection. We have all been placed in a holding pool since they have no OCC dates available, mainly due to the return into the company of pilots that made use, from what I can understand, a leave of absence to work abroad.
So the question now is: does anybody know when there may be new OCC dates available?

Could you provide some information about interview? Anything special, technical questions etc? I am flying to BCN next week. Thanks.

In my case, the interview was only 10 minutes and I was interviewed by the base captain of BCN. He just asked me what I'd do in case the captain wants to continue an unstabilised approach, and talk about an occurrence I had to use CRM. The two HR people just asked me to define myself in one word. For the other guys, it was a bit longer, but no more than 20-25 minutes.
They were very open to questions about the contract and job.

I just did the first phase (exams). It is exactly what it has been said in this post; an english exam (one text to fill in the gaps) and 3 or 5 ATIS and approach exercises, they just play it once and the audio is not the best so be aware!
About the technical exam, 100 questions and 2hrs, all kind of questions from everywhere actually, it wasn't quite good in my case as I had to focus in my job and didn't have much time to study properly.
They didn'y say anything about the OCC.
Good luck to everybody!

I think the hold pool is full for the medium term. We received a positive reply about 6 weeks after the simulator assessment and they told us the hold pool is valid up to summer 2021.
Apparently, it seems IAG has reduced growth forecast for Vueling. The rumours also has it they will introduce the MAX in 2021, other sources say 2023.
The return of some workers also reduced the need for recruitment.
I guess we will have to swim for quite a bit before hearing from them.
