Angry

I do not get it! You agree that what they are doing at eazy is not right, yet you back it up.
Guys you are going to get what your are asking for. The airlines in Spain are going to treat you as second class pilots. Not because of the quality of flying (which I am sure is as good as in many other places), but as the cheap ones. Eazy is lowering the wages in Spain. Instead of showing your disgust with it, you praise it.
What is wrong with you people? I am not arguying that if you do not have a better choice you take this one. What I am making myself clear about is that: you are already with your pants down, waiting. Thus, that is the way they are going to treat you.
There might be too many pilots unemployed in Spain, but many of them abandoned the profession a long time ago. You have companies such as Click and Vueling paying peanuts. The moment you accept to pay a type rating and earn well below average wages you are committing suicide. With the amount you get paid in these companies you will never recover what you have paid for your type rating.
Whenever it comes to answering that question of, are you willing to pay for the A-320 type conversion? Say no. Either that, or moan the rest of your lifes.
Guys, I am not trying to piss you off. I am just letting you know that if you take the money of your type rating and invest in the stock market, at the end of the year your are going to have a profit on your investment. Plus you will also have the wages of whatever other job you have found. Not to say that if many of you did so you could, perhaps, be working for an airline.

you are wrong Ugly Duck ! I keep on reckoning that putting a spanish contract is unfare, although I understand that competition in spain is already present and hard..
Spanish contract with eJ is still much better than what spanish airlines can offer, but lifestyle at MAD wont be as good as in the other easyJet bases.
Madrid is as expensive as London
Se acabo la bonita epoca de las pesetas

Anyway, can anybody tell me why the contract is a different one ? (in italy, france, germany, it is a UK one )

hasta pronto amigos !

Looking at the EZY website. For an aspiring pilot, it doesn't look too bad. Actually salary seems to be higher than UK contracts and will increase if the Euro recovers in strength. I do have a couple of concerns:

1. Why do they not pay into a pension?

2. Is the rostering done as a 6/2 arrangement?

3. What is this 10% bonus you can get if you achieve your personal goals etc.?

4. Can the 34 days of leave be taken in 5 day segments with up to 7 wrap days such as in the UK contract? Effectively giving 6-7 leave blocks per year of up to 12 days each?

5. Does ESY Spain intend to permit extracrew passengers such as the other Spanish airlines thereby allowing travel around the networks on days off etc.?

Most of this appears to be a storm in a teacup, but certain things will require clarification.

I wouldn't imagine it is going to look like a storm in a teacup when you retire in poverty without a pension or if you loose your medical and find yourself unemployed and unskilled at any other job. Having said that hopefully it will be sorted out and Ezy Madrid will be a great place to work.

Hi Easyspain ,

You started the thread saying:

"I work for easyJet, UK, and am looking at moving with the company to the new MAD base opening in Feb.
easyJet have given us a contract but as it is a Spanish contract we have little to base our opinions on it."

So...
Would you send me the contract, via PM if you wish, so I can translate it to English.

We could discuss the T&C´s then. All of us, to throw some light on the subject.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Taxes question.

Let´s assume a pilot earns €100.000 a year, and lives (being a resident or citizen) in Madrid, the question is how much wil he/she be paying in taxes per year?

I´ve been told about 30% of gross yearly salary is conservative..but that probably includes state pension contributions...

Any clues?

Thanks!
