@flybywire320

Hi,

I am currently in Cae, KL(Indigo batch) for my type and i was wondering do we hv to make an indian logbook once we start flying in india? if not necessary, is it advisable to do so? I currently have a FAA Jeppesen logbook (green pages).

If yes, then i can get an indian logbook couriered to me within the next few days and have my 320 rating on it. Anyone having any knowledge regarding this please PM me or reply on the thread itself.

Thank You.

Does anyone know why does IndiGo reject a few candidates at the interview stage ?

And why are these candidates never ever allowed to apply to IndiGo a second time ?

Can someone in IndiGo shed some light on this topic ?

@ cyril

as i said previously
It all depends on your CASS reports
and you cant do any thing about it, i mean you cant prepare for it nor you can change it. The only thing to take care about is that the Interview which they say its a ''Casual Interview'' many people dont take this interview seriously and go without preparation thus screwing their cass report and your interview please give more stress on CASS as its more important than the final PI

despite telling this, people are taking this offensive.

@cyrilroy21

Indigo says that its simply their company policy.The CASS and the interview rounds are mostly psychology/personality screening evaluations which cannot be changed.You can work harder for your written's but your personality traits are inherent and there is nothing you can do about it.They don't want to waste their time re-evaluating you.

Q1. the approximate range of a 10KW ndb over the sea is:

ans-100nm
{but i think ans should be 3* under root of 100=3*316=948nm.
plz some one xpalin the answer}
The formula for NDB range over water is
3*√wattage
=> range = 3 * √10000 = 3*100 = 300nm
Are you sure the answer is 100? Or maybe i have got something wrong. Anybody with a different explaination here?

Q2.An a/c is over flying a VOR at 30,000feet at a grd speed of 300kt.The maximum time during which no usable signal will be received{in mins and sec} is:
a.0.50
b.4.40
c.2.25- ans
d.1.40
Cone of confusion radius = Height in nm * tan 50 = (30000/6080)*tan 50 = 5.88
therefore dia of CoC is 11.76nm
GS is 300 kts
Time taken to cross 11.76 nm @ 300 kts = 2 min 21 sec = 2.35 min (approx 2.25)

Q3. using a 5 dot CDI, how many dots would show for an a/c on the edge at 100nm for VOR beacon

ans- 1.5
Just couldnt understand this question.
But I guess θ = (S * 60)/R will give the answer. Maybe edge means + or - 5 nm then using the formula, θ = 3 which is 1.5 dots.

one degree at 200 nm represents a width of:
ans-3.5 nm
θ = (S * 60)/R
=> θ * (R/60) = S
=> 1 * (200/60) = S
=> S = 3.33 (approx 3.5) nm

The lift coefficient of an aeroplane in steady horizontal flight is .42, an increase in angle of attack increases CL by .1. A vertical gust instantly changes the angle of attack by 3 degrees. The load factor will be
a. 1.71
b. 0.74
c. 1.49
d. 2.49

a. is the correct answer.

would appreciate it if anybody could explain the rationale behind it. cheers.

The lift coefficient of an aeroplane in steady horizontal flight is .42, an increase in angle of attack increases CL by .1. A vertical gust instantly changes the angle of attack by 3 degrees. The load factor will be
load factor= lift/weight
in case of horizontal flight load factor is 1 because lift is equal to weight
as angle of attack changes lift will change but weight will remain constant
now new load factor is = (0.42+0.3)/0.42
= 0.72/0.42
= 1.71
