The DGCA orals is a big farce. The stupid guys ask a few questions on the indian FDTL, and maybe on a few AIC's relavent to aircraft ops. Look at the AIC's at www.dgca.nic.in. The guys are a big bunch of shammers there. Usually the guy who takes u as a bunch sees u thru. Jet will make sure u will get thru. Go confidently.

Post DGCA oral exam

My friend, Cpt in Air India Express, who took his oral exam this January told me that they asked him just couple simple queastions... About himself and his previous experience, where did he get his hours, etc.
They asked him single tech question, something about ETOPS.
The whole thing lasted for 3mins, he said.
I am not sure for FOs, thou.

Hi Lightning Bandicott

Are you sure this kind of rude comment are reallly necessary?
Why not simply state the facts plainlly? Did you fail that test by any chance?

Lightning bandicoot, looks like you don't get the message. What sort of upbringing did you have ? Looks like a stupid one, as you can read your own type so well. And dont try to tell us you are doing it for our own good.

Crew Hotels for Expat Pilots in Mumbai

I will join Jet Airways soon. Nevertheless I would like to go on holidays in Mumbai next month, so that I take my own view of the positive and negative facts about it...

Does anybody know a hotel in Mumbai which has a contract with Jet Airways and would give me a crew discount?

Thanks for the helpful information!

Latest and Greatest

This is starting to become one of the longer threads on the forum and seems to have gone a little off topic, but it would be great if someone could provide the latest and greatest at JET.

Any detailed updates on the screening process and interview questions, conditions of service, the sim evaluation, or even fleet expansion schedule beyond May07 etc. would be appreciated either here or at the start of a new thread.

5000 Euros cash deposit for the job, take home pay is $3000 month, if you quit before 3 years you have pay for the type rating and you loose the deposit, FO's cannot upgrade, Mumbai housing is expensive...

I was interested in Jet Airways after talking with a couple of “gringos” on an overnight in India, but after reading this thread the T&C's do not sound very good. Others told me to only go to India on the Captain contracts…(I don’t have 500 PIC in a 737, so I am interested in the F/O contracts)

Am I missing something? I like India and so does the wife, but I don’t want to do the “frying pan into the fire” jump. Please enlighten me...

Have you seen the Terms and Conditions or just what was posted in the forums? If you are already type rated you might be in a different position. call aeropersonnell and find out the details before you write it off.

Visiting Jet Airways Mumbai

Hello!

I'm one of the new Jet Airways F/O's screened by Randhem Aviation.

I'm very happy to start flying on a Boeing 737 in India and because of the fact I'm on holidays from 28th June until 02nd July 2007, I would like to visit India and also Jet Airways in Mumbai.

Does anybody of you living in India have a little bit time during 28th of June until 2nd July to show me the life as a Jet Airways Pilot in India?

Please keep me informed! I hope to hear from you soon...

Best regards,
Philipp.
