CAAS has recently relaxed the rules for foreign-license conversion. The 700 minimum hours ruling has been scrapped.

Why are the regulations so closely tied-up with the DGCA? Means if u wanna do a foreign CPL, going India to do it is the way to go?

i would hazard a guess that it might be due to SQ hiring pilots from India?

You need to refer to Chapter 12 for foreign license conversion.

Thanks flying.monkeyz! I just read.

I have the same thought with bloodersucker.

DGCA here, DGCA there. DGCA everywhere. Looks confusing.

The Indians from India may have confused and misunderstood. Hoho...

Exclamation Scoot's Employment (Staffs, Pilots)

Dear CEO Mr. Campbell Wilson, your staffs in the picture may look like local. However, many are PR and foreigners.

Why don't you show us your Flight Operations Aircrew? Hiding your foreign pilots?

Anyway, MOM and CAAS do not care at all.

Exclamation Foreign Pilots' Employment

I knew who are the people behind. Should have done it faster.

This way older expat pilots can look for much better job prospect elsewhere before coming here.

Qatar starts MPL cadets for Sgporeans/PR

http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...et-pilots.html

Hi guys! Another avenue for Sgporeans/PR to pursue their flying dream.

I've just crossed another milestone - unfreezed my ATPL! Woohoo!

Keep the faith and move forward my aviation brothers!
Happy landings.

More choices for Sgporeans/PR

Just a thought to the job conditions in Singapore now.
We have at last count, cadet programs from:
1. Singapore Airlines
2. Jetstar Asia
3. Tiger Airways
4. Qatar

Plus, private cadets can pursue a CAAS CPL/Frozen ATPL from SFC and STAA.

All available to Singaporeans and PR. Smorgasbord! Its never been better than now to pursue a pilot career. US and Europe are declining and CAAS and Singapore AOC holders are starting to realise that it makes more sense to hire locals than depend on expats.

Is SFC still taking in private candidates? Their new website seem to suggest that they still do!

They stopped for a while but now have restarted accepting self-sponsored cadets.
