carlojay, pal av is the a good option because as long as you graduate without problems, which means you understand flying, you have 98 percent chance of flying for philippine airlines immediately right after graduation. but the problem is the long queue AND the huge tuition fee. a lot of people now know this fact thus the long wait. i really dont know how they will accomodate everyone. there is a stringent testing process for pal or other airlines, when they do call you so its still not a sure thing. 20/20, color vision, body mass ratio, hand eye coordination, physical exams, brain scan for abnormality, stress threadmill test, etc etc.. so make sure you will pass this tests now before setting ur mind to flying. if they do not call you within the year, i suggest you can try flying for omni. they are a good reputable school. it is owned by capt gomez an ex-pal pilot. his son mike gomez is handling it now (i think) you can try getting in touch with him (he is easy to look for in gen av), you can study with omni for 200 hrs get ur ppl and cpl with instrument then work for them as a fly instructor till u get 500 hrs. minimum time for SO in PAL is 500 hrs. i dunno if they will divide your time by 2 cuz i heard they do if it is single engine time. inquire. at least you have an option. or u can follow Thrust Climb's option which is also a good idea but need a lot of will, hardwork and diskarte some people just dream, but if you have the will it can happen. good luck

It's already October...
Any news re: the application process?
I had half-expected the "training" (not the application process) to have started by now...

Smiling Goat
Hi Smiling_Goat, I just called PAL Aviation School last Friday to follow-up. As usual, they said that they are still waiting for the earlier batch to finish, that's why they haven't started the screening process for the next batch. They also mentioned this time that they are having the delays because of a shortage of flight instructors...

Orientation
Hi, I just got an invitation from PAL Aviation School via email for an orientation on October 27th. Finally they have started contacting people, although it is still the orientation and not the actual screening process yet...
Anyone else here got the email?

Contact Info for PAL Av School
Hi, I suggest that you give them a call. Their website does not really contain much info about the training. 526-8829, look for Narmon Tirol or Engr. Meneses.

Loan from Allied Bank
Hi, is there anyone here in the forums who trained with PAL Aviation School and availed of the loan from Allied Bank?
I contacted Allied Bank and said that they need a guarantor for the loan with an income of at least Php 1 million a year... I do not think I can readily think of anyone that rich who can act as my guarantor.
For those who have availed of the loan in the past batches, is there any other way to get the loan without a guarantor?
Screening at PAL is still on going and I am just asking just in case I get in...
Thanks!

I think most people who was able to get a loan had a family member or relative that is already a pilot with pal. there is also a lump sum to be payed once the trainee has graduated. im not really sure about the other details, this is just what i heard from fellow co leagues. good luck to everyone

Have no idea how many are still in after the psychomotor exam... But during my psychomotor, only one of the six did not make it... So I assume there are still many left!
