Intake 6th Jan

Hi all, logically speaking i don't think this 6th Jan will be cancelled. I think there are lotsa' pple out there waiting eagerly to be called up by SIA for this intake. I for one, gave up my bonus (so-called company's biggest payout somemore!) to join the 6th intake. So if they would to cancel the 6th, it would be a double blow for me (idle 1 month and lost bonus )

Another reason is i think this course fits in very nicely. By scheduling it from 6th to 26th, they have avoided the clash with Chinese New Year. This means we will get to enjoy CNY first before shipping out to the 'rig' . (Heard this 6 months in Seletar would be toughest life of a Cadet Pilot)

So take heart! I'm sure there will be many others out there like me who would jump at the chance to join the cohort rather than waiting for some short term gains like bonus. Time is of the essence. The sooner we start, the sooner we get our hands on the Cessnas/Baron/Learjet/777/747/340s!!!!

For Beechcraft , Bombardier , Boeing and airBus!!!! (The quadruple Bs!!)

Hi guys,

Just to make a slight correction...

At this point in time, when you finish your Cessna / Baron / Learjet, you'll be put onto the B777 fleet, EXCEPT if you signed up for Cargo, and in that case, you'll be on the B744 fleet.

Currently, there is no plan to have a Second Officership for the A345. So, if you're passenger fleet, it'll be the B777, Cargo, B744.

Cheers!

Hi all

Welcome all other 117 mates on board. FYI the OBS location is confirmed to be Ubin, those who filled in the Lumut form will have to go back to CAAS medical to get the medical results transferred. Those who have yet to go for medicals I suggest you may want to download the Ubin form from its website and bring it along for your medicals.

Osprey, same like you I gave up my bonus to join the course as well! I don't think anyone is going to give up the chance to join for their bonus instead.

Hey Fliegen,
Wilkommen und freut mich!

Hey bros...limpeh,

Regarding your statement on the fleets and on our employment, just wondering will it be indicated in the contract on which division would we be joining...passenger, freight..etc? Or we'll only find out after completing fly school... anyone any idea?

RUN...!!!?!?

Damn...

I hate running. Well, but if they put my "wings" in front of me fitted to my head hanging from a bamboo pole, I might just start running...

willc : you will know from your contract's letterhead which company u joining, pax or cargo. As for fleet, if pax will by 777. If cargo, then 744.

guys,

lucky bunch of ppl. just a little thought, does it really matter whether its pax or cargo. ppl out here are dying to just fly any jet after paying for their flying for the past 4-5 years and building up enuf experience before getting a look in ...

from what i gather, 26 is the miniumum age for u guys to be picked .. they shud increase it to maybe 30 .. so that u guys think before u speak .. and dont ask silly questions like which "terminal we'll go through when operating flights" or "stewardesses being involved in the OBS" ..
cheers mate

PS : this is directed to a few of u .. u know who u r

hey there, on_the_right... you certainly sounded not too pleased with some contents in this thread. Oh well but I'm sure you got your point there.

terryble: thanks for the info though... just a thought cause the terms read differently for pax/cargo. But at the end of day... like what on_the_right said..heck cares.

So now you're the expert on when to say what?

Not too long ago you were also an expert on training standards / quality of English in SIA / SFC:

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...0&pagenumber=3

Quite a few people expressed their opinions about what you said, myself included.

But then you went quiet in the face of all that.

Now you surface again for some trolling?

Are the school holidays boring you, little man?

on_the_right:

mate, age is not an indication of virtue. a very good indication is yourself. if being older makes one think more, then why are you here spouting nonsense?

true, granted that working in GA for 3 years for your ATPLs & slogging to accumulate your 1,500 hours is hard work but being offered a cadetship is a once in a lifetime opportunity. anyhow, i find it quite ironic that given that you want to apply for a particular airline & yet you look down on others? Jesus... You're an absolute disgrace to pilots. I wonder what sort of CRM skills do you possess...

Wink u know who u are...

...

Personally, I think this forum is great, it seems most of the users of this forum are helping each other one way or another... its the freedom of words that makes this forum interesting...

but i think whatever whoever says breaks no bones. If you're as mature as you think you are, you probably wouldn't have written those. haha... anyway, we're all sitting on the learning curve, And i don't think you're 30 the moment you're born, right?

Last, don't try to suggest changing the policy if you're not even close to the board of directors!! ".. they shud increase it to maybe 30 .."

You know who you are...

p.s: Humble...

Cheers

117

Heh heh...we do sound like some reservist unit no? 116, 117...only missing the 3 digits behind like 117 SAR. heh heh.

PS: It does not stand for Singapore Armoured Regiment. It stands for Singapore Airlines Recruits.

Cheerios! Looking forward to meeting the rest of the flyboys in 117!! )
