Regardless of all the whys and wherefores, the engineer that signs off your a/c requires authority to do so , or the CAA or other regulatory authorities take a rather dim view of things ....

There was a T5 that landed gear up on a Friday afternoon at Binbrook , I know because I dug it out. Not sure if it was OC 5 , but 1984 sounds about right , although the memory is dim !!
